Your just a thought doesn't include the issue of him deleting mine at the same time.

Guess he has to do both if he wants to delte mine.

Long story short I made a joke. Which was lame. Mutton got triggered.

I said it was a joke.

He admitteded in his head he got overly triggered, got embarrassed I assume and delteted his hissy fit.

I asked why mods were deleting posts on the same thread

He deleted that

I asked on the mod communication joining thread.

He deleted that

I reposted it. It is currently still there, but he will probably delete it.

Interesting, on the Modern Pentathlon issue Samantha Murray, former Sliver Medalist, thinks it's rider error why the horse wouldn't jump again, her panic transferred to the horse:

I do wonder how they pick the horses?

Good that she got kicked out. As I posted above there's a fair bit of commentary who said the German rider got her approach wrong with the horse, rode badly, miscalculated the jump the horse wouldn't make, and them panicked and whiped the horse badly, as a punishment, which made everything worse.

Indeed. Ice cold, the Egyptian guy did awesomely to closed that gap and shot brilliantly, especially given he must have given more in the runs, I was worried but Choong wasn't worried, kept with him and sprinted away in the last 200m.

To repeat my post from the Irish bandwagon thread.

Broadly speaking they start off with a pool of horses who can make the height easily enough, then eliminate those that are not 'anyone's ride'. It is never possible to get a pool of identical horses, but as the IOC have said, these are tested and are as close as you can get to that.

The big unknown is the riders. I know there was controversy after London in that a number of owners stated their horses had been essentially bullied round the course and needed a lot of remedial work after.

If a horse has had a bad experience at the hands of a poor rider, then someone else gets up and asks them do do the same course again, most horses will push back to some extent. Some horses will react more than others, and this is simply not something that can be found out ahead of time.

From what I saw, the German girl did just about everything wrong. Horses feed off the riders to a huge extent, if the horse is misbehaving, the rider needs to be quiet and calm to bring it back down.

She looked distraught before she even came into the ring. Hurting the horse is unacceptable. Hopefully the coach is banned for life.

Was this it? Wouldn’t even rate on the Brian Moore scale. Assume the issue was attempting to assist the rider rather than the violence.

Lovely surprise of the silver medal for the Dutch 4x400m men.

And the ladies' high jump was a great competition.

Really frustrating that the Beeb don't show more of the Field events.
