Hard luck Reds, well done Blues.

No BP for the Blues although that’s not going to hurt them so much now.

Only one winner there! Blues looked bigger and stronger, bossed the contact areas by some margin.

Reds lack depth.

I thought he distributed well and was excellent on D, no flashy line breaks if that’s what you mean.

Give them a break. Two big player losses on the day of play on the back of BT canning his bench for lack of effort the previous week. I’m sure that Uru and McReight would have been handy in the last 20?

I thought Finlay Christie was meant to be Scottish.

He has a stronger Kiwi accent than me.

If McReight is the locked on Wallaby seven in 3 years time, it will be because, as in the time of Ceasar, he had a faithful retainer to whisper "Memento Mori " in his ear, when it seemed the world was at his feet.

Ok I quickly went through it up to the Christie try. Good win; scrappy in places; defence not too bad; winning the collisions and go-forward, a bit too easy at times. Not used to the blues getting good go-forward.

Gosh fellas, I think the Blues escaped one here, as I don't think they were all that good, and won with bugger all in hand. The expected bench impact also never happened did it?

To their credit, they did win, but McDonald must be concerned that the backline still has no flow, so can't capitalize on that breakdown ball.

Blues didn't look smooth, but their physicality especially in defence was really impressive.

Their loose forwards -including Sotutu- put in pretty good shifts

Zarn Sullivan is looking pretty classy already after just a handful of Super Rugby games.

Big accurate boot on him and did a good long flat pass out to one of his wingers that Aaron Smith would’ve been stoked with.

That was one of the best defensive efforts I've seen from the Blues for some time. The Reds were very keen.

Finlay Christie continues to frustrate. He regularly waits 5 - 10 seconds before passing the ball even though the forwards have presented quick ball. He's a handbrake on the Blues attack.

This is going to be one of those matches that got away from the Reds that they'll rue. They lost their 1st flyhalf and their back up flyhalf in the lead up to the game. Such a shame. Could have been a lot closer.

Still, good to see some youngsters get blooded.

Was ok but, you're right. Just plays small.

Particularly compared to say, Paisami, who is fairly diminutive but plays bigger.

As an opposing team supporter I though Mac Grealy played a lot better than Vanivalu. So size does not always matter. He's bigger than Damian Mckenzie.

PT had a great game. So frustrating he hasn't been able to bring too much of that for the All Blacks.

A lot better? Hmmmm. Vunivalu did crock himself but Grealy didn't play greatly.

I'll have to disagree.

On another note, the longer this season has gone on, the lower I am rating Thorn as a coach.

I was a fanboi for four years, against his haters.

That lucky win over the Brumbies has secured his tenure, though, and I reckon his quirks now will become negatives.

So the mathematics for the Blues is simple now. Beat the Force and they’re in the Final. Any win will do, although bonus will probably secure a home final. Agreed?

Edit - just seen the media say blues need bonus point.

It’ll all be clearer after the game in Canberra tonight but if the Canes win with a bonus point they’ll definitely be in the final.

Another bonus point win next week v Qld in Wellington and it’ll be a home final.

Today's results clear things up a bit, but yeah I think a bonus point win guarantees it. Non-bonus win and the Crusaders probably need to rack up 60+ on the Force to chase down the PD.
