He wasn't that low. Nowhere near low enough to "mitigate" the shoulder charge to the head. The referee choked because he didn't want to send a player off at home in Wellington.

I think the Reds player was pushed sideways almost a metre by the first contact. I could mount a good defence if he was red carded.

They've been doing it all season. Ardie Savea and Kirifi swim around inside rucks to win breakdowns and the referee lovingly allows them to do it.
