This match could define whether the Highlanders are a genuine threat to the other larger, better resourced SR teams over the next two seasons. Apart from their continued persistence with Tomkinson over Gilbert, I believe it is their strongest available team at this time. Solid tight five, with Renton doing a great job in Frizzel's place making a superb loose trio they should be able to get parity up front, and hopefully have an edge in the loose. The midfield has worked hard to become less porous, and Nareki and Ioane have been very good lately. The brilliance of their backline overall, may see them edge the Brumbies on the team sheet.

Wallabies Nic White, Irae Simone and Tom Wright have all been named for the Brumbies. Lachlan Lonergan will again start at hooker in an unchanged front row with Wallabies stalwarts Scott Sio and Allan Alaalatoa. Darcy Swain and Nick Frost complete a solid tight five. Rory Scott returns to the backrow at openside flanker and will combine with Rob Valetini and Henry Stowers in the loose. Nic White will partner Bayley Kuenzle, while Ikitau and Simone are a dangerous midfield. Wright, Hansen and Tom Banks complete a handy lineup.

While it is difficult to see the Highlanders helping their points differential, they certainly can win this one, but I predict a real arm-wrestle for the first 30 minutes as both packs look to dominate. If the Highlanders can start well, then suffocate the Brumbies as they did the Crusaders in SRA, anything could happen, but the priority will be to win the game... and who knows... maybe the Brown/Dermody innovations will throw a hand grenade into the SRTT calculations.

Pics are easy to link to... if you google for images, click on the one you want to bring it up, then right click and 'copy image link' or 'copy image address', then paste that into the image function here...Image.
I certainly did try guy, but all I get is about 200 lines of gibberish. I'm not much of a techie guy at all :(

The Brumbies are beyond $3 at the Aussie TAB. Serious value for a quality outfit playing at home.

Go Brumbies! The Highlanders are my 2nd favourite NZ team, but I'd be very happy for them to draw or lose this match. Or at the very least not score a BP win. Canberra is going to be freezing and I hope the Brumbies perform well. Sorry Highlanders fans but my first loyalty is to the Crusaders and that means I hope your team loses.

Totally understand AC... and by the same token... putting 20/30 past the Ponies would make the rest of the weekend a bit tasty ay? :)

Its going to be real f**king cold.

Kunzle is pretty raw but is coming along.

If we can establish forward dominance we're in with a shot.

I like him. There's something about his style I like. Can tackle, can kick...is large.

Wallabies should play White at 10, better kicking and distribution than JOC , Lolesio and To'omua

Nice try by the Brumbies.

But I have ask, what on earth is Horan talking about, turning down 3-point in front of the posts because, "the fans want the win, the Brumbies want the win"?

That is a complete non-sequitur.

Since when does taking an easy 3 points to reduce the score line to under one score mean you "don't want the win"?

Glad they scored anyway.
