2nd pfizer vaccine

Post by nardol »

So got my 2nd pfizer shot Thursday and it really gave me a proper kick Friday. Out of action all day. This a common thing?

Mild temperature, headache, fatigue were the symptoms. I Slept all day.

Yeh, second Pfizer is the one that can get you. Usually over in 24 hours.

Probably wrong but thinking probably mixed up needle re-used and AIDS positive HIV, either that or the person injecting has Covid and infected you before getting the needle in.

Should be cool though. Still have a few weeks before on a life support system or the facial welts get too full on to go out in piblic.

Yep, it is a common thing, means the first vaccine is working and your body is reacting to what’s been put into it

Quite common, and nothing to be concerned about. About 10 to 15% of people are a bit down for about a day iirc.

I wouldn't worry too much if I were you.

It's only if your symptoms are fatigue, headache and mild temperature that you will suffer from permanent impotence.

I clearly went to the wrong clinic. Wasn't aware that was on offer as a service.

My arm was slightly more sore after #2 than after the first, and I fell asleep early that night and slept for like 10 hours. No fever or aches or anything.

Some friends had it worst all right.

Take it easy, hope it improves.

Get an oximeter and keep it near. If the levels drop seek attention.

Not sure that's the standard medical advice.

Rather, it's completely normal and nothing to worry about.

That was basically my reaction to actually getting coronavirus.

I'm getting the first jab tomorrow, probably Pfizer, maybe Moderna. Will be interesting to see how my body reacts to it. I'm a bit nervous as I've heard that people who already had the virus are prone to a stronger reaction from the vaccine for some reason.

Well your body already knows what to do with this foreign particle so it will now react like a liberal voter to an AC post. Good luck.

I actually don't have any antibodies, I got tested for them.

Our 'holiday house neighbour", Agnes Wold, who is somewhat an expert and public medical figure in Sweden, told me that it's probably because I had some kind of coronavirus in the past and have cross immunity. Protected by T-Cells or something.

2nd jab wiped me out for a day, took paracetamol and managed to struggle through the morning but in the afternoon I just couldn't and had to go back to bed. Fever made worse by that it was during the heatwave and was like 30 degrees outside.

So you are immune but are getting the jab so you can buy chicken and chips in places that need the pass. Ok

As far as I am aware I am protected but not "immune", particularly from newer variants. The medical advice is to get vaccinated even if you have had coronavirus. There have been plenty of cases of people getting the virus twice.

But yes, incentives such as travelling freely are definitely part of my consideration.

A few people reporting a mild headache and a bit of grumpiness or sleepiness for a day?

That doesn't sound like a large concern to me in the face of a global pandemic.

The medical advise is for you to get your digital ID pass. I don't think the virus is considered much in that at all.

Having the jab so late in the year now, does that mean the first booster will be kicked back until after Christmas?

I felt like I was half pissed a few hours after the second, then just lethargic and dopey for the rest of the day and bit of the following. Was all back to normal after about 30 hours I'd say and not a bad reaction at all in the grand scheme of things.

1st dose: seriously sore arm for about 36 hours, nothing else.

2nd dose: tiny bit of arm soreness, slight headache and slightly increased temperature (all sorted by a couple of paracetamol before they got worse). All fine once the pills kicked in. Nothing the following day.

I think the most rmarkable change a person experiences when they get their second Pfizer is their shift in political perspective to the right and the support for big pharma.
