What, specifically was the offence?

Balls in the air so it's not a ruck. Why is the ref telling him to let it come?
I didn't think he was offside so he's entitled to play the half back when the half clears the ball.

He was a pest as most halfbacks are, but I think he's a bit hard done by to get a YC
What?
He was literally standing on the side of the ruck. Plus you can't play the halfback in a ruck.
Who says that a player not connected to a "ruck" (I will let that go) cannot tackle the halfback once he has picked up the ball? When did that become a law?

Offside more viable. Perhaps he was.
If you're not connected to the ruck then you must be behind the last feet of the ruck so PENALTY

If he's playing the ball in the ruck then it meants he's entering from the side, so PENALTY.

You can't play the half, been around for 20+ yrs PENALTY.
So it's clearly not a ruck. You do accept that right?

Both halfbacks were attempting to play the ball from in front of the last feet. Why does the Aussie halfback get a pass for being offside but the SA Halfback doesn't doesn't? Is that because Aussie had the ball when the breakdown started?

There is no such law as "you can't play the halfback". Give me a law reference for not playing the halfback. When does the principle start and stop? The closest there is applies if is playing the man without the ball, but here the halfback had the ball.

And neck or head contact and you’ll be in trouble.

Swinton went in too high (as usual)
