May result in NZ going primarily to the front but that will reduce their attacking options, unless they can quickly drive and then recycle.

Fascinating battle ahead.
Conversely SA don't have a PSdT type at blindside as an extra lineout option. But I agree it's advantage SA on locks v locks in the lineout. So as you say, NZ will probably go long or short a lot of the time.
Or go quick. Or try some trick plays.

I’d think that if the All Blacks can play at their preferred tempo, it’ll have more bearing on the game than if the Springboks can slow everything down.

Doesn't this depend on ref a lot, read a good article about how SA are struggling to deal with the English ref's interpretation of ruck I.e. quick, not slow.

Guess what the All blacks won't do?

Kick the ball out in open play or 22 line

temperature /humidity at 5pm in Townsville on saturday could be a big factor.

predicted Sunny , 28 degrees , 70% humidity and light winds.

If they've got any chance the 'Boks will want the game to be as slow as possible.

IMO , the AB backline will be Peranara , BB, Havili, ALB and DMAc to start - all of whom are better than average tactical kickers and we'll vary the kicking game to to run the 'Boks ragged for35 minutes in the the first half and 20 plus in the second and then run at them from every pressure point.

Exactly. The Wobblies didn't kick for the touchline at all. Kick it deep, and make the Boks either run it back, or kick it out.

You're probably right but makes little difference [ other than JB 's height advantage under the high ball] unless ALB is unavailable.

Personally I think Jordie Barrett and Ardie Savea have greater value on the bench because of their ability to play well in multiple positions but then we aren't signing off on the team sheets.

Nothing he's saying here is unreasonable, aside from the lazy reliance on adding up the tally of previous results rather than a tactical analysis of the current teams that the newer breed of rugby pundits write about and seem beyond dinosaurs like Keo, Stephen Jones, Gregor Paul etc. But I always enjoy Keo's predictions...
These Wallabies are wimps. Siya Kolisi’s world champion Springboks will wallop them, writes Mark Keohane. It will be champ up against chump and the scoreboard will reflect this.

Definitely an area the Boks can use to slow the tempo of the game.
Kick for touch and try to steal or even disrupt our lineout and force us into mistakes and therefore scrums or penalties.
It's a game plan that can work if the advantage is big enough.
I don't think it will be enough to slow the game right down, but time will tell.

The ABs are going Bok hunting. Ardie said it himself, you have to beat number 1 to be number 1.

I think we will see a level of speed, intensity, skill and relentless attack from the ABs that the Boks just can’t live with. They’ll be out on their feet on the hour.

As in they play a completely different game plan or they win?

If the All Blacks win this next Test and secure the RC, I could see a number of changes being made to give some squad members exposure and to keep the squad as fresh as possible. The NH leg of the tour ends with two tough matches. The last against France in Paris will be of great importance given the RWC in 2023.
With regards to France, a close loss with the French celebrating madly might be a pretty good thing for these guys to experience before 2023
Speaking of the French, I watched some highlights of that DuPont bloke the other day, reminded me very much of Byron Kelleher.

Outside of that, they’ve been breathtaking to watch.

If a season usually has that one magical game and that one horror half, the All Blacks have played more than the one magical game, but they haven’t had a horror outing. They are due a day when the ball doesn’t stick and in the past a lot of those days have come against an uncompromising and desperate Springboks.

Decent team. I'm happy to see Jacobson at 8 and Blackadder at 19. These two players great bring work rate.

Not surprised to see George Bridge at 11. His ability to diffuse the Springbok's high kicking game will be very valuable.

With Ioane at 13 and Tupaea at 23, I'm guessing that Anton Lienart-Brown was not considered fit enough?

Patrick Tuipulotu continues to be one of the luckiest players in the squad. I suspect that Foster wanted his extra ballast against the big Springbok pack.

Papalii and ALB injured?

Probably as good of a team as we can field under the circumstances (though Reece deserves a start over Bridge, high ball insurance notwithstanding).

With Snecky, Whitelock, Cane, Mo and ALB in the mix I'd feel a lot more confident.

A good side.
Bridge has played well in his last couple of starts, his first run of the year he was obviously grossly underdone. Good to see him running directly and with purpose, he's not going to beat people with his footwork.

No particular complaints. I think it is a sensible team with a few minor tweaks to the "A" team picked against the Wobs to combat the Boks strengths (i.e. Jacobson over Papalii to add some extra size, and Bridge over Reece for his high-ball skills).

If I were being picky, I'd have Vai'i and Ennor over PT and Tupaea, but they're line calls at best.
