Saw that on the Indo site this AM. Cracking effort from those UCD heads.

Now that is pretty awesome.

I just downloaded the entire album and it is now blaring around the house much to the amusement of my dogs and my French housekeeper.

We're slipping lads!

A small reminder, in case anyone hasn't heard of The Gloaming.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-w7cjXAtpJ4

Hayes' fiddle-playing makes baby Jesus cry - it's that good.

It's as good as I've heard since Michael McGoldrick released 'Fused'

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0GKq4_ ... 3NsoXaq5pn

this is not the full album, and is missing some of the best pieces....

For the month and year that's in it : Sinead O'Conner and 'The Foggy Dew'.

Spine tingling stuff.

Very tempting!!

Moving Hearts - Faithful Departed (written by Phil Chevron)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gej4bQxCmxw

Unofficially called the Black Album by some, it's an excellent album, only outdone by The Storm which was, arguably, one of the most important trad albums ever released.

My top 5, in no particular order:

Mise Eire - O'Riada

Welcome Here Kind Stranger - Paul Brady

The Storm - Moving Hearts

Planxty - Planxty

Pick a Chieftains album......

(Other personal favourites: Wild Blue, Eileen Ivers; Fused, Michael McGoldrick; Book of Invasions, Horslips; Atlantic Bridge, Davy Spillane)

Kilfenora Ceili Band did a cover of Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal on Saturday night. It was glorious.

My only really human quality to speak of is a fondness for Celtic mysticism. Artistes like...Fainne Lasta, Raithneach, Amhann na Ngealach, Clannad.
You like them artistes?

Their music? Of course you do.

I enjoyed some of the comments on the UCD Choir youtube page.

"This people have had a real hard time and come through smiling" was the best.

A hard time when Mum and Dad stopped them going to Dundrum Shopping Centre with the Visa Cord.
