Doesn't sound like Adlington is that realistic a medal hope according to many pundits. Not sure if the 800 is a better bet?Jeff the Bear wrote:According to the BBC, 7.30 and 8.20 are when our medal hopefuls in the pool go for their finals.

She eased off while being miles ahead in her heat. Probably thouht it was safe. Other heats were faster, those performers might have drained their tanks more for the need to qualify and Adlington certainly has more to give.jrp wrote:Adlington is 8th fastest - I wish they would stop talking her up.Jeff the Bear wrote:According to the BBC, 7.30 and 8.20 are when our medal hopefuls in the pool go for their finals.

The beeb is pissing me off. Linaker is such a plum - do some work and at least try to sound like you know what you're talking about. And stop being so embarrassingly desperate for medals FFS!

Fair enough hadn't appreciated that.
But could the 5th placed swimmer in say the following heat have disdplaced her?

I have enjoyed watching fencing but fudge me, a match lasts the best part of 10 mins.

Fcuk me, after £500m of lottery funding British swimmer Renwick STILL loses 0.5m at every fcuking turn to the Yanks, what do British swimming coaches do?, because their swimmers are consistently technically inferior to the ROW

She came first in her qualifier.
Qualification to the final is based on time, so you can win your qualifier and still not qualify as there were three qualifing races for the final.
I know even you're not this f**king thick so take your trolling elsewhere, you tedious prick.

Watching some of the fencing at the mo, how the fudge did they used to judge this without the electronic indicators?!
Re: London 2012 official OLYMPICS discussion thread
I'm finding it hard to keep track of all this Olympics shit. I'm usually a highlights man and hear about what's happened then tune in to see if we've done well. Just walked into my local to watch the football and loads of pissed people were going mental as they thought renwick had just won a bronze. I was lifted by this then realised he'd won fudge all.
These UAE lads look quite good.
