It's a pity but those are the rules of sprinting.

Wtf? Meares almost smashed Pendleton off the track. What's she supposed to do? Fall off?

Ok, no time to panic, just win the next 2

If Pendleton stopped cheating she'd be a dame at the end of this olympics

That race is trademark Meares. She generally gets away with it.

yes. Meares would then have been relegated. And to think that Meares takes offence at Vicky claling her style "agressive"

Cant beat these lady cyclists. They are all quite slim and feminine (and often hot), but at the same time brilliant athletes.

I'd go with that, it was some swerve she made to make contact.

Mears charged down the track and elbowed Vicky off ... but Vicky gets DQ'd as she over corrects. What a farce. That was six of one half a dozen of another.

A match sprint tests racing skills: one on one, with the drafting, positioning and tactics that involves.

Short pursuits tests raw speed and acceleration.

The keirin is largely a sop to the Japanese big audience, but it does lessen the need for a big acceleration. The derny brings everyone up to speed. It is kind of halfway between the sprint and kilo.
so in essence if you have the pursuit, there's no need for the other 2

Pendleton lost patience with that. Clearly her head wasn't in it after the ridiculous DQ. Pile of shite. Congrat Mears for taking her opportunity.

She will just have to walk away with the one gold and silver!

By the way, Anna Meares is f**king lucky to be still cycling if you hear she almost killed herself or could have been paralysed.

Great ride from Meares, unlucky Vicky - what a fabulous event.

How was Vicky ever supposed to beat a bike being powered by THAT arse?
