Trippier who Walker actually lost his place to at the end of last season. Trippier is a much better footballer. Walker is a better "athlete"Diego wrote:Who'll fill in there for Spurs next season DK?
Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thre
Much better is a stretch but you don't turn down £50 million for a RB. City have lost the plot and are desperate. Levy is some man to fleece people in the transfer market.DragonKhan wrote:Trippier who Walker actually lost his place to at the end of last season. Trippier is a much better footballer. City still not learnt their lesson after buying Sterling last season.
Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thre
Trippier is a very good RB. More well rounded than Walker but Walker is so fast and strong it gets him out of trouble. He may suit Pep's system almost as well as Alves did. Alves has much better end product though.

Alves was also a great passer, with genuine vision. I think I read he became the top assister in Europe or something recently? Meh, something like that.SASP wrote:Trippier is a very good RB. Let's be fair here, Pochettino picked trippier because walker was already making noises about moving and complaining openly about not being allowed to play every game. It wasn't based on performance. Trippier got in when Walker was injured and won man of the match in two games and pretty much kept his place after that bar one or two gamesearl the beaver wrote:Let's be fair here, Pochettino picked trippier because walker was already making noises about moving and complaining openly about not being allowed to play every game. Imagine what they will be like when more money filters down and a decent infra structure and coaching system is fully in place.Slater582 wrote:Beat Portugal today to become UEFA U19 winners.Anonymous. wrote:England win the U20 world championships. Matic and Costa look to be on the way out at Chelski.
Massive loss to have both leaving the club but if they are unhappy they should leave.
No way will they be able to get a 20 goal a year player to replace Costa for next season.

Salah is a horrific signing. Absolute headless chicken. No footballing brain whatsoever just a dribbler with no final ball

Seriously, how many of these exist in football? It's endemic.

Andy Robertson wouldn't be a good signing for Liverpool. He is half the athlete of Alberto Moreno and with neither Mane or Salah going to want to track back having an athlete is imperative
Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thre
Klopp doesn't seem to value defence. Jettisoned their best defender, resigned Lovren, bought poorly at CB....

Liverpool are screwed next year. Fighting in 4 comps whilst relying on the Geigen press as their MO is going to be carnage. The players will be burnt out by January
Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thre
Klopp gave Moreno his chance and all the pace in the world is fudge all use at FB if you cant defend.
Moreno will probably be fine if he goes back to Spain.
Klopp probably knows he's not getting a world class LB anytime soon so is going for the more solid option.
Also both Salah and Mane are very good at tracking back.
Liverpool's biggest problem is set pieces. The usually win the first ball but dont get it clear and have conceded the majority of goals from set pieces from the second ball. Something like 2/3rds of all the goals they conceded came against the bottom 8.

He'll have to adjust for the games he doesn't place much stock in. On the other hand, players will have had another preseason doing the Gegenpress and fitness work, so will be that much more adept.Clive Simms wrote:Liverpool are screwed next year. So PSG are supposedly going to buy Neymar and possibly Alexis Sanchez for 200 odd million.
Most of it on Neymar. I'd be tempted if I was running Barca. The team is built around Messi anyway and they could use the cash to rebuild.
Not advocating buying a whole new team but 2/3 top class players in some key positions.
Then again new coach might invigorate some non performing players.

In the current market they'd probably get 100m for him. If Wenger would actually spend it on someone decent they could be alright.Diego wrote:Arsenal would be goosed if Sanchez left.
Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thre
Arsenal need to sort out the Carzola issue. Their record with him in there is a totally different story.
