Tonight will show just how f**ked/not f**ked we are. Any kind of win that is convincing and we have hope. I agree. Emery has been shown up on lacking some very basic tactical nous far to often and it's not as if he set-up the team with any inspired plans that outwit coaches. He's a fairly average coach.village wrote:I'm all for giving managers time, but Emery doesn't seem to have much of a clue and this year seems like a golden chance for Arsenal to get back into the CL with any sort of competent season. The fact Sako is a better player than Pepe already
They never bring in the right experience to blend with their great youth setup.

Pocchetino cost that game for us. We were crying out for midfielders who could keep the ball to stop the waves of attacks but he left NDombele and then Lo Celso on the bench way too long

I'm starting to think Emery sin't the man at Arsenal. He constantly gets tactics and selection wrong, is saved by individual brilliance and his appointment of Xhaka as captain, not only one of our shittiest players but our stupidest who loses us more matches then he wins, has been toxic and clueless.
I see the fans boo'ed Xhaka off the pitch today.

Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thre
I don't know what he is trying to do. Arsenal sustained pretty much by individual brilliance from auba (it was pepe midweek). The midfield is awful and just not functioning. He played torriera as the attacking midfielder midweek. Also, considering our defence is bad we might as well pick a unit who can play together for a long time which might help (ie Bellerin, Chambers, Holding and Tierney) and i don't think it will be any worse than a defence featuring sokratis and luiz. Not sure a team desperate lacking creativity in midfield can afford to banish its most creative midfielder. The midweek game was the worse team performance in a very, very long time while also containing good individual moments from all the players who played. It was bizarre. I actually think most of the transfers have been good recently and business off the park is much improved over the last two seasons with a lot dross cleared out, decent players brought in and at least getting rid of emery won't be expensive.eldanielfire wrote:I'm starting to think Emery sin't the man at Arsenal. I presume you’re not talking about the Villa game. And quelle surprise, City score late to win the match. This is why Pool will not win the league this year.iarmhiman wrote:Typical united performance these days. So passive.

I'm no fan, buuutttttt, given Arsenal haven't have a backbone since Vieria left he could well be the coach who actually sorts out some of Arsenals long standing problems with defence and defensive protection. As long as he wasn't aiming to stay long.c69 wrote:That would be deliciouseldanielfire wrote:The Special One to Arsenal?

He might bring them some short term success but he’ll not build a team that will last beyond when he pulls the plug and leaves. He’s quite good at seeing where his cheque book built squad is beginning to run out of steam and realised that is the time to move on.eldanielfire wrote:I'm no fan, buuutttttt, given Arsenal haven't have a backbone since Vieria left he could well be the coach who actually sorts out some of Arsenals long standing problems with defence and defensive protection. I agree. I'm shocked, largely because we'll never have the money he wants. A good summary:ScarfaceClaw wrote:He might bring them some short term success but he’ll not build a team that will last beyond when he pulls the plug and leaves. I do wonder, with all the rumours of Emery; That he can't speak the language and communicate properly, divisions between him and he players (hence wanting the popular among players Xhaka as captain), seemingly no idea on tactics and unable to change tactics when things go wrong, terrible substitutions, fans going against him and can' get our new 72 million pound play going yet.
Who is there Arsenal could go for?

I was wondering who The Special One was also eyeing up. He usually uses one club to draw attention and more money from another. Arsenal never made sense given our budgets and insistence we develop academy players.Akkerman wrote:bayern without a coach now, mourinho in the running
Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thre
Yeah no thanks Mourinho. Better him than bumbling on with Emery but there must be a dozen better candidates, especially long-term. Why not give Eddie Howe a crack (assuming he'd leave his beloved Bournemouth) or Marco Rose who seems to be the new Klopp in Germany.
