PSG have won 7 of last 8 titles, and are in 3rd 1 pt behind Lyon and Lille. Is it going to be a tight one this year or the usual walkover? If the latter, why would a top manager go there (apart from multi euros)?

Complete lack of ambition by Poch
It’s worse than going to manage in Scotland
At least there, there are now two teams that can win the league

There's only 3 in Spain.

1 maybe 2 in Germany.

Unsure in Italy, but recently just 1.

England by far the most competitive.

Took a bang average Argentina team to a world cup final, setting up 2 clear cut chances that Higuain bottled that should have led to them winning, and 2 Copa America finals, where again Higuain bottled numerous chances that should have led to them winning.

The idea he has been poor at international level is laughable.

Higuain finishes 2 one on ones and he's a world cup and copa America winning captain, instead Higuain misses 5 clear cut goal scoring opportunities across 3 finals. Unfortunately he can't pass to himself.

First up, Argentina weren't bang average. That would be a Welsh team ranked 25th in the world. They had Messi, Zabaleta, Mascerano, Aguerro, Higuain and Maxi Rodriguez.

However, my point wasn't about Argentina but how we would compare in other teams in different eras. Don't get me wrong, the guy is one of the top 4 players ever, maybe #1, but I just don't think he is as versatile as Pele, Maradona or Ronaldo. Something Ferguson mentioned when being interviewed about who is the best between Messi and Ronaldo (for which he never gave a definitive answer because they are so close). But in cold weather, rain etc. Messi would not excel as much. In the lax laws of yesteryear he would not excel as much. The other 3 would whatever the conditions/playing style/refereeing. All I am saying is that is undoubted brilliance is given the perfect vessel to perform in at Barcelona with the style of football officiating of the past 15 years.

Nonsense again. Ronaldo maybe more physcial but he's turned into a tap in merchant ffs. Messi started as a left wing who put crosses into the box, switched to be an orthodox right wing to play in the same team as Ronaldinho and then became an inside forward cutting in from the wing to score 50 times a season before converting to first central striker and then being a false 9. Messi has now turned into an attacking midfielder who assists 25 goals a season while also scoring 35, he regularly takes the ball off the centre backs now in his own half or near the halfway line.

That's a big win albeit lucky

United really struggle against defensive teams.

Matic too slow with the ball and Pogba only started playing well mid way through 2nd half.

Shaw made a difference. He brought some pace.

Wolves are a pain in the hole of a side.

He hasn't the pace to beat his man. The amount of times moves die in that right corner because AWB can't beat his man, can't cross or hasn't the pace to make a run

Those sliding tackles he wins look great until you realise he has to slide in because he is so far out of position

Who would you consider to be the top 20 teams in the whole English League that are the genuine top 20 since WWII. Include heritage, fan base, level of success etc?

For me in no order;

Arsenal
Chelsea
Spurs
West Ham
Liverpool
Everton
Man Utd
Man City
Aston Villa
Leeds
Nottingham Forest
WBA
Southampton
Newcastle
Sunderland
Wolves
Stoke

Then you are talking teams like Burnley, Bolton, Leicester, Sheffield Weds, Derby, Ipswich, Norwich, Watford, Palace ....???

Leicester are surly above WBA, Stoke, Sunderland and Newcastle. They won the league. Also surely Sheffield Utd above Sheffield Wednesday? Also Ipswich over Norwich too as they have won the league and won the UFEA CUp when jit was a huge deal. Burnley have also won the league post war. Blackburn too. Derby too. Twice. Portsmouth too. Twice. They also won the F.A. Cup.

I am pleasantly surprised with the position Man Utd find themselves in. I would never have thought we would be in a position to draw level with the top team if we win our game in hand come new year. They have been given a rare opportunity to be in the title race as no team has been consistent so far this season. If somehow they can go on a run in the 2nd half of the season like they did last year, they will stand a chance although I just do not think the team has what it takes to take the fight right to the end of the season as yet.

They definitely need to invest in a good speedy CB in a similar vein to Van Dijk or Ferdinand to partner with either Lindelöf or McGuire. Those 2 are to similar to be partnered together and bring the worst out of each other in my opinion. They both look better when they play with another CB. Because they are both quite slow, Utd's defensive line sits to deep to try and avoid getting caught on the counter, which in turn affects their attacking intent. I'm not sure our attack trusts the defense so are held back a lot by those insecurities in defense. So a fast CB for me is a much more urgent requirement than a RB. Like someone else on another forum said, Man Utd have the midfield and attack to challenge for the title but they have the defense to put them into a relegation fight. At least it looks like De Gea is getting back to his former self.
The game against Wolves was always going to be a tight one, so I was very happy we managed to snatch a win. If looking at past encounters with Wolves, Man Utd rarely had blow out scores against them and loads of draws. They have always been a team Utd struggled against.
If we can win the game against Villa, it will set up the new year very nicely.
