Belgium without a few players and Carrasco missed a few chances but England clung on when under the cosh.

The proposals by Liverpool and man Utd are a disgrace. Don't get me wrong there are some good ideas buried in there, but the way it is aimed to consolidate power and perhaps prevent other clubs from ever having a realistic chance of challenging is messed up. It could also be damaging long term.

A good video on why the Premier League is so attractive and popular to fans against our European neighbors. Basically it's the competitiveness of the league which has remained competitive thanks to to fair distribution of money and power. Ironically other major European leagues are moving closer to the Premier League model of the past 3 decades.

I'm glad Arsen Wenger is getting loads of love on his book tour:

He's always genuinely been a nice man and obviously such a legend. Also he talsk such sense:

Maguire is so, so sh#t! Used to be amusing to watch him try a Sol Campbell up the wing. Now he's nothing but a firm liability. Poor ManUre!

He was never great but this Greek stuff has clearly got to him in a big way. Probably needs a break to get his shit together. Sadly both Man Utd and England have average coaches who can't see that.

I completely missed James getting sent off - assume this was for something after the match ended?

I'll admit I'd already partly switched off from this, it wasn't exactly riveting - we're still lacking some degree of creativity (At least, any little opening we might make seems to lead down a blind alley) and the ref was quite pernickety. That penalty was a nonsense, I had to watch it on replay 3 times to guess at what it was given for.

Jamie needs to chuck in a bit more, "Triffic lad, triffic player, triffic", and invite everyone to coast the wave of populist optimistic guff his dad taught the world. VdV knows what that was like to listen to in the dressing room, shirley...

Pickford taking too many tips from Maquire and going for an early red card. Not sure why he didn’t get one to be honest.

The people working on VAR today are crap. I doubt very much they even looked at what Pickford did.

Looked like the knee had gone in real time
That’s then fuc.ked he was the only decent centre half in the premier league and held that back 4 together

United's problem are their players some of whom are troublemakers. Pogba needs to be sold. They threw Jose under the bus and will do the same to Ole

Jose though. Could you live with that? Just think about what you’ve suggested there.

Badly needed win for United.

Rashford a lot better as striker. He was very good this evening.

Mata i think was the difference. A lot more creativity tonight.

Newcastle very poor. Just sat back and didn't put any pressure on United

Mata had instant chemistry with Bruno when he joined. They fit each other so well.

Lanzini equalises, 3-3 after spuds 3-0 up until the 82nd minute.

I am trying very hard not to laugh. Poor old Maureen.
