Not Klopp? Won all his games?
Newcastle spend more money than any club in world football in January and yes they are doing well. West brom only spent £7m on one striker in January and he got injured after only two games. They did get Andy Carroll on a free a player who we both know is now shit. They started falling down the table and sacked the manager. Bruce has come in not managed to turn it around in the month he has been there.
To be fair, I woudln't call this virtue signalling. Theya re actually taking action agauinst a rapist playing at their club. Though why no action was take when he first signed for Clyde suggests it's done for virtue signalling type reasons.Anonymous 1 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 11:25 am Footballer Goodwillie loses a civil case for rape. He signs for Clyde afterwards and plays for them for 5 years with everybody knowing what has happened. He then signs for another club and all their sponsors and fans say they are not having it. So that club loans him back to Clyde. Virtue signalling now takes off with the female team all resigning and sponsors cancelling as well as the council saying they will not renew the clubs licence to play at their ground.
I thought seizing the money of Russian billionaires was extreme virtue signalling but this takes the biscuit.

That's my point. Those protesting the 2nd club are fine, fans etc taking action against the club over signing a rapist isn't virtue signalling. The Clyde club though probably is a syou said they didn't do anything for the first 5 years.Anonymous 1 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 11:44 amFIVE YEARS HE PLAYED FOR THEIR CLUBeldanielfire wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 11:40 amTo be fair, I woudln't call this virtue signalling. They knew what he had lost the civil case for and had he not got a transfer last summer he would still be playing for their club and so would they. And the council wouldn't have been threatening to make the club homeless. It's virtue signalling write large
Sorry but I didn't realise that was your point as I thought it obvious it was the people at the club he played for for five years who were virtue signalling. in my original post I did point out that virtue signalling only took off when he returned to Clydeeldanielfire wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 11:47 amThat's my point. Does it happen to coincide with the Greenwood incident?Anonymous 1 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 11:52 amSorry but I didn't realise that was your point as I thought it obvious it was the people at the club he played for for five years who were virtue signalling. in my original post I did point out that virtue signalling only took off when he returned to Clydeeldanielfire wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 11:47 amThat's my point. I think he first game for Clyde was just when the Ched Evans retrial started and Jessica Ennis had her name removed from the Sheffield Wednesday stand and they lost sponsors and women's groups were boycotting their games. They clearly didn't give a shit thenHawk97 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 12:23 pmDoes it happen to coincide with the Greenwood incident?Anonymous 1 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 11:52 amSorry but I didn't realise that was your point as I thought it obvious it was the people at the club he played for for five years who were virtue signalling. in my original post I did point out that virtue signalling only took off when he returned to Clydeeldanielfire wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 11:47 am

I think he's saying they are ony taking action for the most cynical of reasons. Which kinda means the culture and environment that allowed him to play hasn't really changed. So this could lead to more parallel awful decisions still being amde for success and money.
Fair enough, probably true.eldanielfire wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 1:01 pmI think he's saying they are ony taking action for the most cynical of reasons. Famous last words there Winger, but good win considering by all accounts you got battered for most of the match.
Yeah, was a scrappy game. We were comfortable first half but Brighton were the better side in the second and we held on.
They're all russians.Deadtigers wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 2:35 pm There is no way anyone can create a connection between the Glazers and Vlad, is there? Asking for a friend.
Big turnaround for Leeds though. They have been getting absolutely hammered and let in at least 3 goals in each of their previous 5 games. So they may be able to save themselves.
It wasn't actually anti Ukraine it was just showing support for a man who has pledged to give everything from the sale of Chelsea to a fund for Ukraine. That should be well over £2 billion
And they could have done that during the game rather than showing themselves up.Anonymous 1 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 7:54 amIt wasn't actually anti Ukraine it was just showing support for a man who has pledged to give everything from the sale of Chelsea to a fund for Ukraine. OK you seem sceptical he is going to write off the money he is owed. It's way more than £1.5 b he has put into the club. That was just the debt the club was carrying which he had to convert to a loan (can't remember why and can't be bothered to look it up.) Anyway lets just say he only gets £200m for the club. He is still not putting it in his sky rocket which I guess is more than any other individual person in this world has promised to donate to the victims in Ukraine.Winger_ wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 10:05 amAnd they could have done that during the game rather than showing themselves up.Anonymous 1 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 7:54 amIt wasn't actually anti Ukraine it was just showing support for a man who has pledged to give everything from the sale of Chelsea to a fund for Ukraine. And net proceeds will be interesting as no way anyone is paying the reported £4bn. He bought the club for £140m and he has ploughed £1.5bn into it. I'm aware he's saying he's going to write off the £1.5bn but will be interesting to see if that come off the net proceeds. So if he gets £2bn then that figure could be more like £350m.
It's for both Ukraine and Russia and it is a very good gesture. I'm just saying they could have held off during the minute tribute. I agree that the vast majority of fans don't care about ownership as long as the owners pump money into their clubs.Anonymous 1 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 10:34 amOK you seem sceptical he is going to write off the money he is owed. They are football fans FFS. It not like you are complaining about you club being taken over by a regime that tortures people, sent a hit squad to murder Jamal Khashoggi, beheads people and stones women to death for adultery.
And people try to make me feel bad because West Ham are owned by a maker of dildos
I''ll be supporting Scotland and Wales.I'm supporting Ukraine in their match against Russia but against Bitish teams they can FCUK RIGHT OFFterryfinch wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 10:49 am You have to feel a bit sorry for Scotland and Wales. They do brilliantly to get into the World Cup qualifiers playoffs. They then get put into a pool with Ukraine. The entire world now wants the best for Ukraine. Scotland and Wales can’t win.

Kane in this mood is unplayable. Also Aaron Ramsdale is the best English gk.
Everton’s midfield is non existent. I do like the look of Anthony Gordon though. Seems to have something about him, skillful, works very hard and creates chances. Couple of years time he might be around the England setup.
