No chance. Newcastle will have their eye on much better players than Bale. They've already hinted at their strategy, they simply buy the best players of the clubs around them - it strengthens them whilst weakening their opposition.
Probably right. Though they did buy Chris Wood... but yeah, next season they'll want some quality... not an aging past-it super star...

Maybe Man Utd might take him?
I think Bale plays for Wales in the summer and then retires. Ancelotti was prepared to play him he isn't good enough. Can't see any club that would pay him more than £40k a week coming in for him. When you consider he has been paid between £450k-£600k a week by Madrid to play golf for most of the year I'd be surprised but impressed if he has the desire to play for a team that might with a bad season get relegated or a good one finish 9th.
He expressed wanting to continue playing for Wales, so maybe off to Asia then.

It's three years since the board at Real Madrid blocked his move to China so he could continue sitting on their bench for another three years being one of the best paid "players" in the world.

He has just become the leading scorer of away goals in the EP EVER. He is only 28, doesn’t play in the best team and looks set to smash all the Premiership goal scoring records. Just an incredible player.
If he leaves in the summer and joins city or Utd, will you feel the same amount of love?
No but doesn’t detract from his record. Wonderful player.

They bought one player from a team in the relegation fight, one from a team hovering around mid table, a young eye catching player from France and an experienced international who was out of favour at a big team in Spain.

They'll go for Kalvin Phillips though.

I did suggest hinted at. And why not? It's a good strategy and pays dividends in two different ways. I doubt Eddie Howe is in their long term plans either. In fact, keeping them up might only hasten his exit.
I don't get the assumption that he is just there short term. He's doing an incredible job and is a very good coach. I hope he stays long term.
I think our strategy going forward will be younger hungry players.
We've been linked with Nunez from Benfica and Osimhen from Napoli and guys like Botman at the back.

Maguire and Mings make total sense. Both have been excellent every time they’ve played for England. Mings less so, but Maguire and Pickford are good for England so they’ll be in the squad a good while yet.

Yeah. What about Tomori? Been ace in Serie A apparently. I listened to a podcast which uses stats, analytics and systems that the players play in etc and they identified White and Tomori as the form English CBs, also mentioned Webster and Kilman.

Maguire and Mings have been straight up dreadful. Yea they maybe played decent for England in summer but he’s clearly not picking on form

Ask the average United fan what he thinks of Maguire. Villa fans reckon Konsa is easily better than Mings

His school says he studied hard and was a model pupil even though he was obviously very talented at football. He passed all his exams with four A's amongst his results. What is your basis for suggesting he has a low IQ other than the way he speaks ?

Fantastic performance they ran themselves into the ground. How great was that for Yarma. Apparently he went straight into the dressing room sat on his own and had a cry. Sevilla were time wasting and playing for penalties from the first minute of extra time. That was strange as they gave as good as they got in the 90 minutes.

It would be funny if we won this thing even with the owners virtually running down the squad waiting for the 23rd of March next year.

Cracking win for West Ham and they've got a real chance now. Obviously Barca are favourites and Leipzig, Atalanta and Lyon are still decent sides but definitely in with a shout.

Good win for Everton, if Newcastle had a centre forward we would probably have won it but were definitely a bit flat. The young lad Anthony Gordon is a whiny wit kant mind and Richarlison hit the deck a lot.

Why Gold and Sullivan won’t sell up before 2023

Posted by Sean Whetstone on April 30, 2018

West Ham Vice-Chairman Karren Brady’s own website values West Ham at £800m which if true would mean that the owners would need to pay the state London stadium owners nearly £120m if they sold before 2023.

If the owners sold up before March 2023 a calculation within the concessionaire agreement is used to work out how much is paid back to the taxpayer. If the club is sold for £125m or less then no tax is due, 7.5% tax is due if the club is sold between £125m & £150m, 10% tax due between £150-£200m & 12.5% tax between £200-£300m with anything above £300m costing 20% in windfall tax. Like income tax, the calculation has an accumulative effect.

This means a £800m sale would mean a windfall tax of £119.3m paid to the public sector owners of the London Stadium

There will be no windfall tax. They sold 27% of the club to Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky last year (I think windfall tax only kicks in at 51%) and I believe the deal is they will sell him the rest next March. I think that is why they have not been able to find a striker or central defender for the last three transfer windows despite trying very very hard to spend some money :(

When we were in fourth place last season and they sold our second striker they should have bought another striker. When our best central defender got an injury that might be career ending and we were in 4th place they should have gone out and got another two top class central defenders because we were left with no one. Thank god they got the cat kicker. In the summer they should have got a top class striker but they got no one. In January when we were in 4th place they should have got a top quality central defender because our best central defender being out for the season we still just had the cat kicker and again we didn't get a striker. If our owners were keeping the club these things they would have done. So the answer to your question is good riddance

They sold 27% of the club to Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky last year (I think windfall tax only kicks in at 51%) and I believe the deal is they will sell him the rest next March. I think that is why they have not been able to find a striker or central defender for the last three transfer windows despite trying very very hard to spend some money :(
So are you happy to have new owners in a year's time?
When we were in fourth place last season and they sold our second striker they should have bought another striker. When our best central defender got an injury that might be career ending and we were in 4th place they should have gone out and got another two top class central defenders because we were left with no one. Thank god they got the cat kicker. In the summer they should have got a top class striker but they got no one. In January when we were in 4th place they should have got a top quality central defender because our best central defender being out for the season we still just had the cat kicker and again we didn't get a striker. If our owners were keeping the club these things they would have done. So the answer to your question is good riddance
Yes would have sufficed...

Careful.. you might get too successful... win the Europa league... then the Champions League next year... and that will screw up expectations for life... :D

Good win for Everton, if Newcastle had a centre forward we would probably have won it but were definitely a bit flat. The young lad Anthony Gordon is a whiny plum mind and Richarlison hit the deck a lot.
Gordon has something about him. Can’t put my finger on it but he’s clearly talented and is tenacious too.

Didn’t see the game but just had a feeling, maybe hope I suppose because I want Lampard to do well too, that tonight was going to be Everton’s night regardless of how well Newcastle played.

20 minutes of extra time at the end of the game wtf happened 0.0
An eco warrior with a t-shirt saying "stop the oil" tied himself to the post using a zip tie around his neck and had to be cut free.
Gordon is decent but is a bit of a whinge.
Again? Someone tried that at the Arsenal game last night...

After picking Harry MacGuire and Luke Shaw, Southgate leaves out Sancho and actually says that Sancho didn’t make the recent England squad because guys like Grealish have been playing better.

Southgate did a great job to steady the ship after the Big Sam situation but I don't think England can seriously win a trophy with him in charge and they have had 2 great draws and chances to.

But Gareth picks on form allegedly🤣

The form English centre half in the premier league is Big Dan Burn but he's never going to get called up.
He never has. It smacks to em of the player power that undermined coaches in the 2000s as no one would drop Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard et al for a long time.

I high suspect Southgate doesn't have the authority and never installed it as England coach.

Yeah, being friends with the players approach possibly? But is that enough? Sometimes the "everyones friend" approach starts out well, but them falls apart over time as egos grow and demands of individuals vary. Of cours ethe Eddie Jones approach is the opposite and a flaw that does the same from the opposite end.

I suggest a happy medium. Gatland seemed to balance being the man in charge with no doubts with making the players happy and come toegther but also a ruthless edge for example.

Southgate has been in charge for three competitions. Made semi finals in 2 and the final in the other and people are suggesting we should get someone else.

Look at the entire history of how far England have got in competitions

😂😂😂😂
