Did you all see that you can spend your stay and spend credits on McDonald's? Next scandal will be when a certain cohort cop what a tax credit is.

Jesus “wet pubs “ has nothing to do with the markets in Wuhan  : I’ve often heard publicans use the term “wet sales” to differentiate drink sales from food in the past

Yesterday was one of Dublin's biggest days in a while. It's encouraging that it's roughly level most days but we'll need it to dip below 100 before they'll lift the restrictions. I'd say we need a 5 day average of 100 or below by next Thursday if we hope to go back to level 2.

Unless the government overrule NPHET.
At what point do you think they’ll have to accept that the link between positive tests and hospitalisations isn’t what it was 6 months ago?

Could be managed if Dublin is in Level 2. Just have to shout across to the next table
It’s the only reason I post on this topic ... its so we can sort a decent cabal this Christmas ...

Down with this COVID sort of thing ...
Our two cabal pubs are about as wet as it gets

Not really the point. They kicked everyone out of hospitals, made the private hospitals public, built a step down facility (currently being used to overcome the paediatric allergy waiting list) and stopped all but essential treatments. The current hospitalisations are manageable but we don't have the surge capacity of before and the worry that a vulnerable patient might contract Covid at hospital is making them less efficient.

Also, you know full well why hospitalisations are a lower percentage of cases now. That doesn't mean we can afford to just let it loose but you know I'm in the same ballpark as you about having a nationwide discussion about risk.

I wish the Kiwis the best of luck with it but fudge me this is getting tiresome. It's 2 islands stretching from Denmark to the south of France with a smaller population than us(inlc NI) in the middle of nowhere. We're not remotely comparable.

It's been used for years in the UK.
Turnover is very often split into wet and dry sales to show an approx valuation for a pub.
I think the expected GP margin on wet sales is 66%, and that of dry about 80%.

I got it from an angry barmen from my local boozer who's reduced to 8 hours a week in the offo. I didn;t think much of it initally but gradually come around to it on foot of the scaremongering and a realisation that the distinction is pointless.
