Extending the dose period for Pfizer and Moderna is the only logical way for them now, they can still reach that 80% target. What I never thought was realistic was 80% plus 55%/60% fully vaccinated.

The issue is going to be encouraging people to get second doses of everything once you do that.

Next month is critical!!

We'll get this under control by June. We'll have an OK, outdoor, summer. And hopefully by then they'll have sorted out this clotting mess and we can get everyone done in September/October.
Unless they tell NPHET to fück off when we hit summer. I can't see it but who knows
Govt have nailed their colours to that mast. They have alienated most people who think that measures are too much already. If they go against NPHET they'll alienated those who think measures are on the money or not enough.

If cases are low, hospitals empty and hardly anyone dying the government absolutely will open up more and they'll know they've wriggle room if things go wrong because it's the fecking summer, not the middle of winter.

We'll still do over a 100k. It's not the end of the world.

In an ideal world all of this would be done behind closed doors so not to promote vaccine hesitancy but we are where we are.

The HIgh Court seems to be getting irked by the number of MHQ related cases they're dealing with https://www.rte.ie/news/courts/2021/041 ... mma-kelly/
Mr Justice O'Moore said that he wanted to warn people about their possible exposure to costs in these cases.

He said that even if he makes a recommendation for them to receive legal aid, that does not automatically mean they will receive such assistance.

They need to submit statements of means to the legal aid board. He said if they did not qualify for legal aid, and if they failed in their applications there could be very significant cost consequences.

He said it was important that message got out there.

I don't see how trying to do it 'behind closed doors' would help combat so called vaccine hesitancy.

Because you'd just have a covid vaccine and which one you got would be dependent on NIAC advice and NIAC would assure the public that they'd be getting a safe vaccine.

I did say in an ideal world. It's not realistic to think it's possible.

358/18. 7 of those 18 in April. We're halfway through April. We're on a couple per day.
ICU down to 48.

Space out the Pfizer doses for the U60s to get broader coverage in the mobile population, and get shit open.

358 cases, 18 deaths.

Of the deaths, 7 occurred in April, 3 in March, 3 in February, 3 in January, and 1 before January.

Of the cases,163 are men and 192 are women; 73% are under 45 years of age; and, the median age is 31 of age.

Just pump AZ into the over 60s and open up.

Probably mid December, but should get back to September levels this week if the trend continues.

We've only had two waves. The bump last Autumn was simply the result of opening up over the Summer and not a true wave.
