Did he  That lad is something else. I was at two charity events where he waltzed in at the start and did a sad dying baby face near the prizes for a while and then fùcked off home

Well done Mullet. Great day for the parish and like most I see it as a victory for all

Well done, FF.

4.6% unemployment also takes the wind from their sails.

Daly and Wallace can see what way the wind is blowing.

Hopefully the beginning of the end for the Indos and assorted small parties.

The Clontarf race is good fun. 6 seats.
In so far are:
Independent
Green
FF

Almost definitely in:
Labour
FG

Then a straight up brawl for the last seat between
FF
FG
SD

Next man out is PBP. He should benefit the SD so it'll likely see the FG candidate gone.

Given a sob story interview in the Indo too. Whoever's advising her is a moron. Unless she really had lied about the extent of her injuries, in which case her PR team are playing a blinder.

My ward is heavy on the left but the greens smashed them.

Were still getting two far left councillors though.

Pidgeon (Greens)
Moynihan (Labour)
McVeigh ( PbP)
Watters (FF)
Ni Dhalaigh (SF)

seats filled

The online response from the Trots and Shinners has been so delicious you would nearly purr. It is all insults about the electorate and bile about everything else. The Trots genuinely believed this was there time and had predicted massive growth this election. To get there they said to themselves 'What we are best off doing is fùck all and meeting a bit and then leaking crazed trot manifesto shit on each other. That will be tickety boo'

Paul Murphy's whining about the 8th was quite delicious.
As if that vote had any relevance whatsoever on party politics.

I've never understand that approach. The electorate don't back you, so you insult their intelligence? Yeah, well done, that'll win them over.

Nearly 50% turnout overall which isn't bad at all. Anyone have a link to a ward breakdown?

Gogarty got the seat in Lucan
FG looking good to claim the second seat with Labour (Tuffy) and FF (O'Brien) battling for the next 2 seats.
Hard to say who will get the last seat. Maybe the second FG candidate Dobbs whose main tagline for the campaign was "you may know me as being from the well-known Brady Dobbs family who have served Lucan for years"
I haven't met a single person who has heard of the family
Even one of her canvassers didn't know what her policies were when he called to the door last week apart from "she's one of the Brady Dobbs"

Edit, actually an Independent looks a good bet for the 3rd seat. Cant see FG getting two seats

At least it's not a bunch of Indy spas, but it's discouraging.
