Apologies.

Try this :

you need to wrap it in url tags, the automatic url identification doesn't go past the brackets

Edit: Right, just tried liberty insurance and for almost exactly the same cover, its half the price. Literally from about €1,000 to just over €540. Double checked the details I put in were correct, all fine. Something screwy there, can't be that random.
I saw this so decided to get a quote from Liberty, they had some sale on but went from 750eur with FBD to 502eur with Liberty for fully comp. Had just renewed so had to pay the cancellation fee with FBD but was paying them via DD so still saving 250 quid.

Most depressing and honest quote from that link cammy.

Construction of DART was subject of severe
criticism from politician and economists
based on cost and value for money

Our managing classes have to be among the most incompetent globally. We can't be far off south american levels of fubar. At least we beat the Africans.

Armed Response Unit

Garda Helicopter

Garda Command

Dozens of Gardai on duty.

All to stop the knackers fighting.

By comparison 70k march in Dublin on Saturday in the Gay Pride march, and the only coppers to be seen were either marching in the parade, on traffic direction duty, or Leos protection squad.

It is going to all end in congestion without DU. Would be interested to know the frequency they are planning on for Maynooth, Hazelhatch and Drogheda.

I agree.

DU is the key to increasing through city services.

The reason for the delay is that it's "unaffordable" which is patent nonsense given negative interest rates on government loans.

Shane Ross requires defenestration and replacement with someone who is at least interested in PT.

"Unaffordable" means they can't sell it to politicians, let alone the general public. This is a 50 year failure now.

I'd prefer the NTA to take over this project, or at least double up on it, they are the ones who have the ear of the people that matter.

This is the most depressing part;
“Dublin is no longer a small city. With the current regional population of about
850,000 and a vehicle ownership of 160,000, it has assumed many of the
characteristics of concentrated urban living which have made life difficult and
have presented long-term serious problems in the urban areas of other
countries…………….Parking has reached saturation level with present facilities.
Existing public transport has been unable to effect significant improvement due to
congestion on aerial routes into and out of the city”

Things are moving though. On Friday the tender issued for multi disciplinary consulants for the Kildare line DART Expansion

https://irl.eu-supply.com/ctm/Suppli...wNotice/215085

Project includes:

* 20km of electrification and resignalling of the Kildare line from Hazelhatch to Heuston, and through the Phoenix Park Tunnel to the western side of Glasnevin Junction
* Quad tracking from Parkwest into Heuston Station
* Structural works associated with 4 tracking at South Circular Road, Memorial Road, Sarsfield Road, Kylemore Road and Le Fanu Road bridges
* New station at Kylemore
* Realignment works to segregate DART + Intercity
* Any required upgrades for the Phoenix Park Tunnel
* "Passive protection" for future development of DART Underground

The problem as always will be whether the construction button will be pressed at the end of the design process. This, in itself, is a reduced programming, as the tracks were originally going to be doubled to Kildare, now only going as far as Parkwest !

I'm not wrong though.

Institutional effectiveness is fairly shite in Ireland and nobody is able to refute other than name calling.
