That's one that's hard to argue against.
Someone at some point thought it a great idea to honour Leopold with a statue?
SMH
Well not surprising considering that there are plenty of statues of J Marion Sims who experimented on slave girls by performing surgery on them sans anaesthesia

It would be good to know if these deaths were actually recent and in what setting. There's been practically no ICU deaths in a week or two, from memory, so I'm assuming some of the recently announced deaths are historic or nursing home related. Fingers crossed we'll start seeing more days than not with no deaths. NI are an outlier though rather than the norm in that regard. It does seem from the euromomo site that we've had an all Ireland response in terms of overall impact in the end which is great.

Hah, same. Bought a bunch of plates for my DBs a couple of months ago. Want to buy two more so I can go heavier, but they've been outbid stock for weeks.

Pretty much every online retailer of gym stuff has been emptied for months, understandably. There's never been such a skew in supply and demand before.

NI report hospital deaths on a daily basis, and others (community and NH) weekly. Agreed the reported figures are excellent.

Hospital numbers continue to decline but I do note that there was an ICU death today so that's one of the 5 anyway.

I never hear of Decathlon until yesterday. I went shopping online for two inner tubes as spare. I tried one or two of the sellers who were the cheapest. The postage nearly cost more than the tube.
I then came across Decathlon who were selling @ £2.99. As they had a click and collect program, I decided to buy. A little bit further than it should have been to collect, Kensington rather than Wandsworth, but the exercise was good. As they had signs up saying no touching etc, I didn't bother browsing, but the shop seemed to have a lot of stock. On the ground floor it appears limited, but the main bit of the shop was in the basement, which was big. It stretched along the floor below 3/4 of it's ground floor neighbours.
I'll definitely have a look at it next time I'm shopping for bike equipment.

I went to the Belfast store on Saturday morning, the cycling section looked like a BLM-protest/looting spree had blown through it. Same with Halfords. Although tbf I’ve a mate who has been out to buy a bike off someone on gumtree at least 4 or 5 times in the last month and between the time he has messaged the seller and arrived at his house, the seller has already sold the bike! Massive demand for bikes at the moment.

The rest of Decathlon looked pretty well stocked, but they have taken away all the weights/exercise machines. Distinct lack of the usual volume of yummy mummies in leggings prowling the aisles as well

I’m amazed it lasted as long as it did.
Given that the 11th and 12th are cancelled this year, maybe we could all be super best friends all year around instead of the usual 3 month hiatus for the marching season?

So long as they don't have to redact that comment in a few days saying "that's not what we really meant"
Still good news though.
