England's game against the Barbarians on Sunday is in doubt after a number of Barbarians players - including former England captain Chris Robshaw - breached the agreed Covid code of conduct.

Robshaw, who was set to make his final appearance in England before moving to San Diego Legion in America's Major League Rugby, is understood to have been among 12 Barbarians players to leave their central London hotel base on Wednesday night.

Several of the other 11 are understood to be players from Saracens. The Rugby Football Union is currently reviewing if the Quilter Cup match can still go ahead.
What on earth did they think they were playing at - irresponsible idiots, the lot of them.

Wasps missing Brad Shields, Kieran Brookes, Simon McIntyre and Alfie Barbeary are unavailable after being ruled out due to contact tracing protocols. Malakai Fekitoa misses out due to injury :(

I don't know about that. It's hard to believe they didn't know that being found to have left the hotel would preclude them from being involved in the match. Yet it's also hard to believe that knowing that they thought not conforming in the baa baas tradition would be a bit of a laugh. Somehow I think the knew the rules but not the consequences of being caught breaking them.

If they decided to break the rules, then they robably didn't intend to be caught.

The last time England went into a postponed 6N's game with no warm up and against an opponent who had already played a game they lost to a rubbish Irish side who had already played the previous week. It cost them a slam. I suppose the team for Saturday would have been very different to the 6N's team anyway. :(

2000 England 50-18 Ireland
2001 Ireland 20-14 England
2002 England 45-11 Ireland

Yes you are quite correct generally people don't break rules or commit crimes with the intention of being caught. However the severity of the consequences tend to be a factor in the decision to break the rules or not. The consequences of being caught breaking this rule make it surprising to me that so many senior pros would risk it if they knew. It's not kids like Foden and Greenwood.

Robshaw is genuinely as thick as he sounds.

Hope the press crucify them, great timing when pro rugby has its begging bowl out to the taxpayer.

Bonkers over-reaction.

A few rugger chaps going out for a few beers is neither here nor there in the great scheme of things.

Fit as fiddles, these lads, and 99% will not realise they have Covid even if they catch it.

Very poor show by the RFU.

Trust that was a piss take post or you're not quite getting it are you?

It's not about "them". Many have the virus with no symptoms. So they mingle with their team mates and coaching staff. Smash into the opposition for 80+ minutes. All fit as fleas and no symptoms. Spread around the country back to clubs and family, who I am sure are all super fit as are their friends and relations.

Absolute dipshits.

Risked the wellbeing of many others, and subsequent consequences have impacted tens of thousands of people. Suspect there may be a few jobs on the line due to loss of revenue etc.

Awful conditions for the premiership final. Exeter not as clinical as they can be but edging it for me. They've nullified the Wasps breakdown threat pretty effectively

Shame about the conditions, it could have been an epic final. Exeter's control told ultimately and if you can't win your own lineout ball on the opposition five metre line you're not good enough to be champions.

How good though to see a final contested by two teams who do it the right way.

Yep - lack of street smarts - wrong options take a number of times. Still did far better than I expected - defending was epic. Robson had an excellent game.

A few learnings:

- Jonny Hill was as anonymous tonight as he was excellent last week. Doubt Eddie will have been impressed

- Joe Simmonds isn't up to it. Pretender

- Dan Robson is genuine class

- Slade is pure sex

- Ditto Willis

- Hogg is another pretender

- Big Will Rowlands is an absolute specimen. A lantern jaw to die for. A schooling to give a man a wet dream: Dragon, then Rugby, then Oxford. Quads and hamstrings to make a Kiwi farmer weak at the knees. Simply magnificent. Restores one's faith in rugger.
