The guy is an enigma no doubt.
Flat track bully. You don’t get to run sideways building up a head of steam at that level.

I think he’ll come good at international level. As will Jonny Hill.
Genge is 26. I know props are sometimes seen as peaking later, but how much longer will he need?

How long is a bit of string?

He clearly has ability, he's clearly impressing a lot of very good players in the England squad. If he doesn't step up at some point someone else goes past him

Interception pass aside, Ford very impressive, both passing and tactical kicking. Really wish his dad could have kept it in his trousers.
The constant early engage penalties melt my brain.

Manu Tuilagi: Sale Sharks and England centre signs new contract

England and British & Irish Lions centre Manu Tuilagi has signed a new two-year contract with Sale Sharks, to run to the end of the 2022-23 season.

The 29-year-old, who is currently recovering from an Achilles tendon injury, scored one try in six games for the Sharks before he was sidelined.

Tuilagi joined on an initial short-term deal in July 2020, following his release by Leicester Tigers.

"The boys here at Sale are fantastic," Tuilagi said.

"The environment that the coaches and staff have created is so good for me both on and off the field.

"We're going in the right direction and it's a really exciting time to be involved with the club.

"I can't wait to get back on the field as soon as possible so I can help the boys."

Samoa-born Tuilagi has 43 England caps, the last of which came in the 2020 Six Nations.

Jonny Hill has nothing to offer at international level. Big lump but not athletic, not a big tackler, isn't a lineout caller, only good for conceding a penalty or two when the pressure is on. We have much better options
Not athletic? He's a sensational athlete for Chiefs. Gets around brilliantly for a big man. I agree with Flaps that he'll come good for England. It's never easy being a new player in a struggling team and he strikes me as not being the most naturally confident of blokes.

Genge though - all bark and no bite. Doesn't he have a long-term knee issue that affects him in the scrum?

Exeter were outstanding; particularly in their offensive defense.

Barnes was fine.

Best performance I have seen from Hill who would be my motm

Always going to be when they slow it right down and use different angles.

Cardy is a weird ref. Seems to want to dictate at the players, no working with them to get the game flowing.

Smith having a poor game today, not really managing the game or controlling much.

a mention for Jordan Olowofela in case you missed it - England U20s winger who couldn't make the first team at Tigers, now on loan at the Western Force scores a hat-trick and wins MOTM in the game that takes them to their first play-offs

I thought the slow mo made it look worse than it was, to me it was a forearm push and not an elbow to the face.

Oh yeah, same. Never a red and I thought in real speed it's a push with minimal accidental contact.

As soon as they started looking at angles it was always going to be red

2nd half of Glos vs Toon has exploded into life: Newcastle took a 21-7 lead into the half but Glos scored two cracking tries to level it up. The 2nd was a length of field belter, LRZ is playing well - he put in a monster hit on his opposite man, too.

Edit/update: Holy epic turnaround, Batman - Lloyd Evans dances over for a wonderful solo effort before Willi Heinz’ mean beans allow him to race through onto a grabber to dot down for his second, and the final nail in the Toon coffin.

If you give the ref that chance to ping you, and they ping you, well it's not the ref's fault

And I thought Smith was poor too, been a lot of chat about him pushing his case but yesterday at least he didn't advance much of a case for rugby selection, hopscotch maybe, but not rugby. Care made one wonder again what Jones has seen in players like Heinz but whatever

Well he did hopscotch his way through three attempted tackles for a game winning try on the last play.

I think he did okay.

He certainly did, but after 79 minutes of faffing around in a game Irish should easily have won, if only by dint of stupidity on the part of Esterhuizen. It was a good moment, it's not enough

They let Wasps play at pace and even though the passing was often shocking, they only have themselves to blame.

Umaga looked sharp. Well, he actually looks like Sideshow Bob, but sharp too.

great night for him. 1st one was a run in from a forward pass but he did well generally in the game.

Was a good win, even if a little fortuitous.

Umaga's individual talent got us through and while there is no doubt the guy has something special I am just sick of his and Robson's error rates. Neither of them control a game well and we were lucky Bath let us run at them like we did.

Fitness levels also looked worryingly off the mark too. Bath were making metres for fun at times in the 2nd half and our goal line defence is still poor.

I am but I have been following Wasps from the good old amateur days in Sudbury and even kept my season membership for many years after moving to Switzerland even though I only got to watch them half a dozen times a year.
I still make the trip up the A46 as often as I can when visiting family.
