No disagree, he put in lots of good work today.Double wrote:The usual shite. Checking his forward runners off most rucks, taking long pauses and then torpedoing the ball into someone's chest. His kicking was also a bit off all night, a lot of his kicks gave Reece enough time to beat the first tackler. Took his non-try well, but most of the work there was do e in that fantastic maul.fatcat wrote:I don't follow threads while the game is on so... what did everyone think of Youngs?

He's not wrong.England winning with Youngs is like completing a marathon with a brick tied to your cock
Just reflecting on the post Back era when England spent 10 years continuously refusing to pick specialised opensides.Joost wrote:Picking him and Underhill together has been a revelation!Hawk97 wrote:I thought I lived him in the 6N, now I know that I'm infatuated.Womack wrote:I want to see a replay of Jamie George's maul clear out on Whitelock (and I'm glad Nige didn't feel the need to during the game)

I'm in love with Tom Curry
Curry’s tight carrying game is very good for someone his size and he’s been handy in the lineout too - two things I didn’t really think he was capable of before the RWC. Still only 21 as well
Curry's carrying is effective because he goes for space rather than contact and inevitably draws in 2 tacklers. Not bad for a 21 year old. Definite future England Captain.Joost wrote:Picking him and Underhill together has been a revelation!Hawk97 wrote:I thought I lived him in the 6N, now I know that I'm infatuated.Womack wrote:I want to see a replay of Jamie George's maul clear out on Whitelock (and I'm glad Nige didn't feel the need to during the game)

And, just for good measure, Wilson came on and immediately won a critical turnover. The improvement in our 6/7/8, over the last 6-9 months, has been nothing short of miraculous. And we've still got Willis knocking on the door.Bradwall Boy wrote:Curry's carrying is effective because he goes for space rather than contact and inevitably draws in 2 tacklers. He is wrong. I'd rather have the short blonde show pony having said that.sockwithaticket wrote:From a Saffer on the thread:ChipSpike wrote:No disagree, he put in lots of good work today.Double wrote:The usual shite. He was his usual self - frequently slow to get clean ball away, times his passes in perfect synch with the moment his runner has just stopped running, a couple of flashy moments to impress Mick Cleary and Stephen Jones.fatcat wrote:I don't follow threads while the game is on so... what did everyone think of Youngs?

I think it's just you and terryfinch who think Youngs is worth his place. Unfortunately, with Spencer and Robson kicking their heels in England, we don't have other options.diarm wrote:Fair play England. Magnificent performance and will be very hard to see anyone beat ye now.
If you'd a decent 9 you'd have been 30 points clear at half time. Young's did more to slow your ball than any two kiwis on the field.
I can't think of another tier 1 starting scrumhalf I'd take Young's over. De Klerk, Davies, Smith, Du pont, Price, Murray, even Genia.ChipSpike wrote:He is wrong. Whatever happens in the final I hope one or two of the young guys in the premiership really shine this season and put the pressure on.sockwithaticket wrote:He'll newver be fully appreciated by some, but I hope this performance reduces the number of calls for anyone but him to be our 10.openclashXX wrote:a moment to appreciate George Ford - took over kicking duties after the Farrell injury, scored 12 points, controlled things from 10

Pfft, this is one of those internet memes. Youngs played all right.Sefton wrote:England won despite Youngs yet again. His ability to miss forwards running at pace but finding then when they are at a standstill is unerring.
Calling it perspective doesn't mean you are right. After a great start he really went downhill.openclashXX wrote:Youngs was fine, let's have some perspective on this
Slade was probably the only player that I thought actively worsened England when he came on - everyone else played out of their skins. the hits in defence from people like Wilson, Kruis and Marler off the bench were massive, Cole carried more in 35 minutes than he has in the past 2 seasons
That rip too. He also tackled a few forwards as well at important times.openclashXX wrote:a moment to appreciate George Ford - took over kicking duties after the Farrell injury, scored 12 points, controlled things from 10

That turnover by Wilson was HUGE, sucked energy right out of the All Blacks.openclashXX wrote:Youngs was fine, let's have some perspective on this

Plus we seem to have somewhat rid ourselves of the SA hoodoo in the last couple of years, it'd be nice to beat them in such a big game to really demonstrate that it's gone
