Looked like a red to me.

15-20 - 3 conversions missed and silly penalties given away after the last two tries.

And then a poor clearance, another silly penalty and Wales drop a goal for a 1 point lead 5 to go.

Hope Gillespie kicks on. Looks good on attacking ball. Is he an ozzie, or just born there?

James & DuPreez families 29 - 0 everyone Irish in England.

Decent win that

Edit - 34-0 evidently it hadn't finished.

Edit edit - 39-0. Still going apparently. Also Warrington won 9-8.

Still hadn't finished...

Feared the worst with the late withdrawals, but they surpased themselves.

Honestly the worst LI performance in years. And there's some tough competition on that front. We had the ball in the Sale 22 once and on that occasion threw an interception where they went the length.

I'll have to watch the highlights, but our defence is extremely abstemious this year, pretty sure tigers did my get into our 22 more than twice the other week and we tend to force teams into errors. 45jumper will have a deceny analysis of it i suspect. Still, a very good win against a team who're not to be sniffed at.

Just been looking at the stats. You made 61 tackles all game. We didn't actually have the ball to make Sale defend. Kicked everything in our half, Hammersley caught everything and scored off intercepts, turnovers and mauls.

Sale were ruthless, but it was a comically bad performance. Error after error.

Don't get me wrong. Cracking Sale performance. Just not one where you'd call out the defence, which is odd considering the other team was nilled.

Never mind

Gillespie is ex of this parish down here in Singapore. Same junior club as my boy.
Dad is definitely English, mum is Philippines at a guess. So pretty much the same background as Marcus Smith and it's probably fair to guess that the Gillespies also moved around locations in the region a bit over the years.

We had a pretty good run the few years around his group and other notable alumni include:
Marcus Smith
Will Simonds - England U16 & U18
Archie Griffin - Wales U18
Cai Devine - Wales 7s
Percillier X 2 - Canada U18 & U20

Some of those would have batted on to further honours I'd hope - I'm probably not that up to date.

Fine. Looked a bit hesitant. No errors though and won a turnover on our line. Came off after 50.

Realisation is probably hitting home that he's not in Kansas any more.

This week in Willis Watch, less than 5 minutes gone and he intercepts a pass from a lineout around the halfway line and runs in for a score. 8)

Robson adds drop goals to his box of tricks.

Had mixed feelings bout Dai's exit, but our attacking structure, if not our accuracy, has been back to it's entertaiing best since Blackett took over. Makes you wonder if Dai as deliberately reigning us in, the old classic of a coach becoming conservative when the pressure comes on.

Glaws' discipline is shocking. With Feikitoa off for a daft off the ball tackle, they've got themselves penalised from an attack in our 22 to conceding a try from a lineout drive in theirs. Constant afters, they're on a team warning for back chat after Tempest felt the need to walk the back following a pen.

I like it, more ref's should hae zero tolerance for players these days with the constant appealing, suggesting and questioning.

Gloucester are monumentally thick that, with him having set out his stall pretty early, they haven't really changed behaviour yet.

I like it, just think if he came across as a bit less pissed off with life, it'd come across better.

Winning the yellow card period 12-0 was pretty damn good. Then as soon as we're back to 15 a simple missed tackle let's Gloucester in

Ah feck, forward pass denies Willis his brace and from the resultant scrum Glaws end up working their way down the pitch for another score. Game back on, Wasps maybe started getting a bit complacent. Thankfully Twelvetrees doesn't seem capable of hitting anything today, so it's only 5.

Pen try for me (obvs.)

Sopoaga nudges a grubber further on a short way from the line and is tackled without the ball.

Path of the ball suggests he would have dotted down if not for that. Tempest rules out probably try.

Ta but sounds like someone from over the Severn launched it - isn't it tradition for a home team fan to start the thread?

Feel free to do a proper one. I only pay them half attention before the match, and no attention during.

England threads get particularly toxic/unreadable, so I don't think any of us bother these days.
