What watches do you own? (thread cock-wave rating - V.High)
What watches do you own? (thread cock-wave rating - V.High)
I've recently sold two watches I used to own but have bought a Citizen Eco-Drive Perpetual Calender watch. It's an attractive, understated design with a black face, magnified date indicator and a stainless steel bracelet. I also own a black military style Seiko Superior Kinetic watch which I've had for years - great watch. I also own 2 Pulsar HRM which I have used just as a watch before.
That is it. I'd estimate that the combined value of all my time pieces is worth about £200 tops on Ebay. Beat that!

I've got a couple of Fossil watches, both pretty straightforward steel bracelet jobbies, neither of which I ever wear. Combined cost about £150

I'm rather happy with my Christopher Ward C3 Malvern Chronograph: http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/dr ... c3skk.html
Classical aesthetically and excellent service. An excellent everyday watch only over-shadowed by those occasions when I have to bring out the old Rolex Milgauss.

I own several watches which are all presents. I stop wearing them when battery runs out as I can't be bothered buying a new battery. Then people notice I don't wear a watch so I get a new one as a present.

Nothing posh, most recently I have been wearing a big square faced steel Diesel bracelet watch that was a present and probably cost about £100 or 200 or so, I like watches to be heavy and loose on my wrist and I don't feel dressed without one on. I used to have a very good fake Rolex Submariner which lasted for years, kept good time and cost me $20, packed up eventually though and a decentish fake Brietling. I would never dream of spending £1000's on a watch even if I could afford it. I also have a couple of big plastic G-Shock plastic things for climbing and hiking etc.

For me, the ability to construct a sentence makes a man richer than the watch he wears. An illiterate with a Rolex is still an illiterate. What watches do you own?

I have a swatch, has steel body and a leather strap. It cost under £50. I actually own two as keep losing and finding them so swap between them. Don't see the point of expensive watches and only moved on to these ones on the GFs insistence, otherwise would probably still be on my old Casio that served so faithfully.

Tissot cost about 200 dollars in duty free, love it.

I have a few of those! Think I got 8 for a fiver in Tiananmen sq.cheese cutter wrote:

I have an old (10yrs or so) Festina which didn't cost much, maybe €250 and it has seriously lasted. Wear it in shower, swimming in sea and pools. everywhere. Very scratched and battered at this stage and due a replacement. Would like to get a Seiko Kinetic but don't really like any of the current designs.
Couldn't really see myself spending a few grand on a watch even if I was seriously minted, would be worried about it getting stolen or damaged and I think it's a bit showy.

Indeed, you chase me around and around and around and around throwing insults and it's me that's hooked, that's how it works.

So 25% of your posts are concerned with trolling a harmless watch thread just to try to have a pop at me. You have problem that you can't contain or deal with properly. I suggest you calm down.

I don't know whether it's the emasculating effect of the new bored, but the standard of cock waving on this thread is very disappointing.

None of my posts are 'troll' posts - try reading them.

Oh, well in that case I apologise. I'll apologise again in a minute, and a couple of times after that until you say it's OK.Toga wrote:None of my posts are 'troll' posts - try reading them.Waratah wrote:So 90% of your posts are concerned with trolling others just to have a pop at them.
