Hope Keatley has a better year for his own sake this year. It was tough seeing a very likeable pro playing so poorly last year.

Not sure have heard him mentioned as a scrum half but played on the wing against Canada A. Irish 7s player looking him up.

Yup, fairly old for an academy player of course, as well as being recorded as a scrumhalf there.

Was trying to figure out why another centre was added to the academy in the form of Rory Butler, turns out he's 6ft5.
Just stick him in the backrow and see if it works out, dear god we really don't need another centre, especially with another prodigious talent like Hume coming through.

f**king pro 12 and their embarrassing highlights package. Takes 3 days to put up 3 min clips with all game sounds removed and replaced with some weird 80s porn mix.
Is there a 9 year old managing their online operations this year?

Highlights don't come out till after they are aired on Sky on Sunday.

I'd say it has nothing to do with Sky's rights and everything to do with the Pro12 not paying someone themselves to edit and upload a highlights package.

They used do it.

The editing is horrible, you're lucky if you get a phase or maybe two before the try.

So a height of 1.98 isn't a mistake!

In all seriousness, McCloskey could have been a number 8.
Just imagine a backrow of Henderson + Coetzee + McCloskey, with Olding & Marshall & Payne & Piatau in the backs... :((

I'm fairly sure it's not, was another of the lads who played against Canada and he looked really rather big (more lanky than McCloskey of course).

Some snaps here of the new Munster training facilities.

The photos of the actual gym are quite poor though. Looks like they were taken on somebody's mobile instead of getting a pro to do it.

I was in at clubs game - Leinster got their tactics all wrong and lost their best forward with a knock after about 25 min.

But Connacht much smarter to be honest - I know Leinster are missing a lad or two - but looks like you were right about it not being the strongest side.

O'Donnell from RBAI should be the priority to get into the academy from that side. Michael Lowry after that, then Hume, as good as he is

O'Donnell will be for sure though of course Stewart has the edge over him as it stands, Lowry I'm not so sure, like I've said he's quite small and has had some consistency issues in the past as well as not really being the first choice place kicker in his team. Hume is a lock in, probably the top prospect of his age group and an excellent penalty taker.

I would rather O'Donnell than Stewart. Hume is a huge prospect but there really is no need for him, he wouldn't get near the first team for a few years, if he bothers to stick around for that long

The one thing I've speculated about is whether they might try and move him elsewhere in the backline, he potentially has the skillset for a really rather good 10.
