Does a backrow need to be fast?

It helps, obviously, but that's a separate issue.
They need explosive power , pace from a standing start to brings force into the contact area . That’s something Leavy had that he’s missing now .

Leavy isn’t right - he was walking around in the first half even

I'll give him a few games to see how much stanima is playing a part.

In fairness, it'll take till the end of the season to get back proper match fitness.

Between him and Ruddock for motm, I think Byrne handling the Blues like he has gets it.
Still hoping to see him get a yawning gap ahead of him so I can see how he runs in open space.

Harry Byrne the best player on the park for me . Good workout for the lads , at least the Taffs put in a big of effort amd made us work for the bp. Too many teams just roll over and let Leinster tickle their bellies

That match will be good for this team, teach them they can't expect to slap around the opposition every time.

And well done Cardiff, there's a decent team trying to show itself.

Well done cardiff - turned up

That was Leinsters hardest game of the season so far. And they won 40-5. Mad stuff.

Harry Byrne looks like the real deal - but we need to see him playing behind a beaten pack to see how good he really is.

I also know it's not vital or anything for his position, but I'd really like to see him get to full pelt and see what kind of speed he has.

The last couple of games Luke McGrath has been back to his sniping best. MoM tonight.

Ruddock - McGrath - Byrne Minor - Frawley - JOB is a very decent spine.

They had to work for the bp which was only secured in the 66th minute. Cardiff put it up to us and made life difficult for long periods. Result probably flattered Leinster a bit tbf . Good performances from Ruddock, Harry B and Luke McGrath (mom)
