Ireland number eight Caelan Doris will travel to Birmingham this week to see a neurologist for his ongoing issues around concussion, it is understood.

Doris was released from the Ireland camp last week after a full contact session with Ulster in Abbotstown, part of the squad's preparation for today's Six Nations opener with Wales in Cardiff.

An IRFU statement at the time said: "Caelan has flagged some symptoms that could be associated with concussion. He has returned to Leinster to allow his symptoms to be appropriately assessed and investigated."
Shit.

:(
Might be time for the lad to hang up his boots and consider his future life

He doesn’t want to be another George North who has a 50-50 chance of being sparked out today again

Shit indeed :((

How many times has he had to do the rtp protocols? I hadn't picked up on this before with Caelan.

That's rough, he might have a big decision to make soon.

Think irua mentioned he had issues at underage.

Sexton, when he finally addressed the issue, seems to have been OK since his 3 month break. Although we've no idea how he's going to be in 10-15 years.

Not worth risking it for a lad in his 20s. Having seen a few people with early-onset dementia (but who are relatively healthy) it's awful for all concerned. Better to take the slow and steady approach.

He shouldn't get another look in this 6N. Get Ruddock and Coombes involved and don't look back.

All the forwards have been quite good tbf. Fair play to Paulie. Although, if we actually do win this Wales should be asking some serious questions

Honestly couldn’t stomach looking at POM/Earls/Sexton/Burns again in an Ireland shirt again after that

Some great performances outside that.

At least we’re not Welsh. They are deeply f**ked long term

Burns was very bad but next week will be gas seeing all the deflection away from O'Mahony being an absolute liability at test level. "Nobody will be more disappointed than Peter".

Agree Sexton, POM, Earls thanks for the service but you’re done

Burns never good enough to begin with - skip straight to one of the young lads

Lowe? What has happened to him? Inexplicable
