Watching a movie called Franklyn at the moment. Pretty good. Also watched Happy Feet again last night with the little one, such a good movie.

That's the Brad Pitt film? Probably check it out tonight. On the subject of Pitt, watched 12 Monkeys again last week. Good film.Gavin Duffy wrote:Went to Moneyball the other night, pretty good flick - 7/10.

Norton is really good in it as well, great actor.

Watched the Immortals a few days.
Was hyping myself up for it... But was somewhat disappointed. Was expecting a very epic clash between the Gods and Titans... Titans were such a let down in creativity. So bland.
Wrath of the Titans is the film im hoping will show what titans really should be.

I really wanted to like Franklyn and it was very stylish but by the end I ended up hating the film
Re: The filum thread 2.0
Also 'The Thing'.
Strange movie. Still trying to understand how exactly it works. The creature is able to break off pieces of itself and take control of a human body? Or just imitate them?
Also. was the first form it was in, the giant insect thingy, is that its original form? Or is that a form it copied. Also the ship it was in. Seemed far too complex for such an almost virus like creature to create IMO.

Looking forward to a World of Warcraft movie. Sam Raimi is confirmed to be directing it. But hardly hearing any news from it.
Re: The filum thread 2.0
I thought it was great. I admit to being biased, I really like Scorsese and also watch a lot of old movies. I found the story interesting, and the use of 3D well done. Not much crap pointed at you, but used to create a great depth of field.Anyone here watched Hugo. Is it any good? Noticed it's been nominated for 11 Oscars.
Re: The filum thread 2.0
Fantastic film, very similar in feeling to Amiele (sp?) and I really like that too. I went with my nephews and if anything I probably liked it the most although like you I am a big Scorsese fan.bigrafa wrote:I thought it was great. All the Underworld movies did that to me. Watch the trailer and it looks great. Watch it and meh! So I'm not gonna be fooled this time.

Watched Happy Feet 2. Pretty good. Good thing about having a kid, you can watch these films without feeling/looking weird.

Re: The filum thread 2.0
I watched warrior the other day. It was what it was and have to say I enjoyed it. The British actor I think his name is Tom hardy was massive in the neck and shoulder area. The other main guy an Australian actor I think seems to have good screen presence because he was good in another film called animal kingdom.

As someone else has already asked someone on this fred, how fricken old are you, 12?
As opposed to the vast majority who slavishly follow Yank opinion I thought UA delivered exactly what it promised, Kate in tight leather, violence, Kate in tight leather, more acton than you can throw Sly at, Kate in tight leather, and Lycans v Vamps. Just like the trailers promised. A good time was had by all who knew exactly what to expect.
In associated, yet totally unconnected news, Lady In Black, (remake starring Harry Potter), is not opening in Australia at the same time as the rest of the world ensuring download action is going to be happening in this Country over the next few weeks. You really have to wonder about our Distributors and their contribution to torrents. Please note I don't download as SIL is marketing manager for Icon and packs a punch that is the envy of a Wallaby front row.

Right just off to watch Aberation, a kiwi movie from the dim dark past of the 1980s.

Watched Contagion last night.
Some good acting IMO.. But they found the cure with little climax. Also a strange view on how a virus mutates and starts off as.
Its put me off eating pigs and bats however.

About to watch No Country for Old Men after finishing the book there a few days ago.
I've looked up a scene or two already, this one is done expertly.

Saw The Muppets the other week. Might have been more fun if we'd actually taken kids.
Moneyball left me rather empty to tbh. Which was disappointing, given it was written by Sorkin et al.
I have the new The Thing (my choice) & The Double (missus choice) queued up on Apple TV to watch this weekend. Read the new The Thing is a letdown but I'll give it a go just to see how badly they f**ked it up. The other flick literally told the entire plot during the trailer but the missus likes Richard Gere. Will Apple TV Drive at some stage too.

Watched atleast 30 movies the last few days, all were good...especially Moneyball, Seeking Justice, Contraband and Happy Feet 2
