Changing engines could derail the success train. I know they are getting a Merc but it's a different package. If he makes 7th or 8th he will have done as well as can be expected

He might never.

IF merc stay on top when they go it might coincide with ferrari coming back to form.

Bimbo is just being Bimbo and asking a question with an obvious answer
Formula 1 managing director Ross Brawn believes Max Verstappen is only missing a championship-contending car to challenge Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen ended the 2019 season third in the championship standings, the highest year-end finish of his career. The Dutch star won three races and cleaned up his driving style to record 278 points.

However, Mercedes still remain a class apart at the front with F1 champion Hamilton leading the way as the most dominant driver.

Verstappen was linked with a move to the Silver Arrows before they confirmed Valtteri Bottas for the 2020 season.

But Verstappen is entering the final year of his contract at Red Bull and may look to leave to finally compete for a championship.

And Brawn feels the maturity of Verstappen’s driving this year proves he is ready to compete with Hamilton now - as long as he has a car that's good enough.

Had anyone else done that I would have been screaming they did it deliberately to prevent being challenged for pole

But as it's bottas and merc are so far ahead of everyone else... hamilton will smoke him regardless... so dont care

I wouldn't be to sure. I think Bottas beats Hamilton more often that not recently if he is on pole

Last season Bottas was on pole 5 times, Hamilton won 3
Previous season he was on pole twice, and won both
2017, he was on pole 4 times, won2, but didn't lose any to Hamilton

So, recent form favours Hamilton (just), but I'll allow that the sample size is small

Oops I thought Bottas did better last year. Although looking back He had Hamilton beaten at Silverstone until the safety car handed the race to Hamilton

I think Hamilton didn't place at Austria last year, but Bottas did, so maybe Lewis won't actually smoke him.

He finished 5th. Last year's Mercedes had cooling problems and it was a hot weekend, but yeah, Hamilton had a poor race. The previous year both Mercedes had hydraulic issues when leading the race.

I wouldn't read much into the last 2 years results tbh. Anything can happen over a race, but predicting mechanical failures is a fools game

It’s lovely that Mercedes respectfully wore black for the funeral of Ferrari’s 2020 title hopes.

TBF to Ferrari they waved the white flag when they said they got their development all wrong and they scrapped it and would be driving a truck for the first two grand Prix

Is Hamilton still banging on about the inequalities of the past while driving Hitler's car ?
