A good idea !

I was on a flight to Phoenix a few years ago; & there we're three USAF guys with their Malinois. Right before boarding the boys headed out an exit & onto the apron to let the dogs relieve themselves before the flight.

Two of the dogs were well behaved, but one of them walked over to luggage cart with the bags that had been handed over at the gate to be put in the hold, & pissed all over it

My brother worked at the airport as a sniffer-dog handler (food/organic matter, rather than drug sniffer). The Penrith Panthers were coming through the airport to play the Warriors and as his dog was scrambling over their gear bags doing it's sniffing, it suddenly squatted and pissed all over them. This was at the baggage retrieval carousel, after the players had retrieved them and placed them on the ground - so they were all standing there, decidedly less than impressed (except Lewis Brown who was pissing himself laughing).

I don’t know about the size of the gold bars I’ve handled in South Africa, but they would be probably lighter than that. You need a very strong hand to lift with one hand because of the taper. I didn’t see anybody succeed. This was a long time ago.

My first job was in the vaults at Bank of England - the trapezoid shape is designed that from a flat surface, a human cannot pick a bar up by hand, you need special calipers. The bars are a lot smaller than in that photo on this page, and although only a few kg the sheer density of them is very surprising, not the weight.

They are also rarely stacked particularly high , 3-4 rows was the standard. All really rather dissapointing compared to the final scene in Goodfinger !
