Yep, I got hold of him at PRG 150 rugby day at Markotter. Out for the year but the good news is that he recovered well and will play full steam in 2016.handyman wrote:OomPB will know. Think he is out for the year at least.sunnybanana wrote:I asked before but got no response...

Jakkals got his fair share of injuries. Broken arm just before Craven Week and then last year broken back. Should be thankfull just to walk again and a long way to get back on the field.Beaver_Shark wrote:Seems to me like locks are extremely prone to injury early on in their careers. The good news though is that once they get over that patch they usually go on to have the longest playing careers of any position (think Matfield, Brad Thorn, Simon Shaw, Bakkies, Nathan Sharpe, etc).
So guys like Schickerling and PSDT shouldn't lose heart.

Junior Springboks make one change for Argentine tour
May 05, 2015
Vodacom Blue Bulls lock RG Snyman on Tuesday was withdrawn from the Junior Springbok touring squad to Argentina due to an ankle ligament injury.
The big lock hurt his ankle during a training session in Stellenbosch and will be out of action for between two and four weeks. Loose forward Rikus Bothma, the former SA Schools captain and skipper of last year’s DHL Western Province Under-19 team, has been named as his replacement.
Snyman will continue with his rehabilitation until Friday and will return to the camp when the squad reassembles after the tour. He will undergo a fitness test on his return.
The Junior Boks fly out to South America early on Friday morning for their two-match series against the Argentina Under-20 team. The two teams will clash on 12 and 16 May in Rosario as part of their final preparations for the upcoming World Rugby Under-20 Championship in Italy.
The young South Africans will have one more hit-out before the tour on Wednesday when they take to the field at 10h00 against the Western Province Rugby Institute at the Paul Roos Markotter Stadium in Stellenbosch.
Meanwhile, two more players have joined the national Under-20 training squad. Wing Duhan van der Merwe, who was a member of the Junior Bok squad that travelled to New Zealand last year, and his Vodacom Blue Bulls team-mate, flyhalf Thinus de Beer, were added to the squad on Monday.
The Junior Springbok squad to represent South Africa at the World Rugby Under-20 Championship in June will be announced after the touring party have returned from Argentina on 18 May.

England cannot be discounted..........but I agree re not making the playoffs.....on yesterday performance I cant see much coming through there to Superrugby.........Liebenberg is a massive fecker and a decent prospect......I couldn't decide whether our hooker was shit or the locks are just big lumbering pieces of meat with no aerial skills or the support players weren't lifting those chunks of meat high enough.OomPB wrote:We wont make the play offs. We were only able to score of rolling mauls. Handling were shit.Sards wrote:Saturday we face Samoa...........our lads are big but I am not confident about this.....did anyone watch the Samoan match...it was not on catchup.

Its the Sharks model?Sards wrote:Should be interesting watching the baby boks against a team like the ABS.
Having based their game plan around the Stormers model it will be interesting to see what they have got when fronting up against a big and powerful unit. Going to get their arses handed to them . Because they have nothing out wide
Junior Springbok team named for vital Aussie clash
June 09, 2015
DHL Western Province centre EW Viljoen will earn a first starting berth for the Junior Springboks against Australia on Wednesday evening in the World Rugby Under-20 Championship Pool B decider in Calvisano, Italy.
He replaces Vodacom Blue Bulls centre JT Jackson, who played in the previous Championship outings against Italy and Samoa. Jackson drops out of the match-23.
Viljoen, who will anchor the midfield with provincial partner Daniel du Plessis, is one of two backline changes to the team that faced Samoa.
His WP team-mate Khanyo Ngcukana, who played against Italy in the opening match, reclaims his place in the starting-15 in place of Grant Hermanus on the right wing.
WP flank Jacques Vermeulen, who started four matches for the Junior Boks in New Zealand last year and who came off the bench last Saturday, will start in the No 6 jersey. He switches places with Dan du Preez, who has been named among the replacements.
The South Africans will round off their preparations on Tuesday evening for this important fixture.
Dawie Theron, the Junior Springbok coach, said his team is well-prepared for the game.
“We have picked a very competitive side to face the quality Australian outfit. They showed with their two wins against Samoa and Italy that they are a huge threat, especially with the ball in hand, so we will have to work hard to counter their strong points,” said Theron.
The big South Africa Under-20 pack have been in impressive form at the tournament so far and Theron expects another good display from his forward unit.
“Our forwards are showing good form and the key for us will be to keep our momentum, reduce the number of errors and to create more opportunities for our backs,” said Theron.
South Africa and Australia are only separated by points’ difference at the top of the Pool B standings, and the winner will qualify automatically for the semifinals on 15 June. The pool winners and the best-placed second team across the three respective groups will qualify for the semifinals.
The match starts at 20h30 and will be televised live on SuperSport.

Were we watching the same game? The wobs made our backline look completely hapless at times, maybe they are just very good. Our midfield and backline defence is rather shitty.Sards wrote:Much better performance yesterday......looked very good. Our midfield defence seems to be sorted out. Our wingers and fullback have great pace and vision but there is an issue on defence and kicking out of hand which could be an issue.
You have to understand that they took their foot off the pedal and substituted everything once the game was won......I would have preferred to see some continuity.......but that was not going to happen with all the subs. Not impressed with the scrum once first choice went off....Mr. White wrote:Were we watching the same game? The wobs made our backline look completely hapless at times, maybe they are just very good. I felt for the aussies, our "kids" are monsters, completely dominated the gain line and every contact situation. Those yellow cards at the end has me worrying a bit though.
The Bokkies were very cocky later on, lot's of chat and talking back to the ref. They need to cut that shit out, they haven't won anything yet.OomPB wrote:Feel our Bokkies peak a bit to soon. Its not that our backline kak is, more a thing of beauty of a pack who dominate the collisions and with ball in hand getting over the advantage line time after time. We left plenty of tries and something Dawie will work on. He is doing great with the youngsters. The forwards will always decide win or lose, the backs the scoreline.
Thomas du Toit and Ox were awesome to watch. Jac's try typical what you can expect from him.
