When everyone in the world tells you both Farrells and Burgess are sh*t, just maybe you should give some consideration that you might be wrong.

Australia looking sharp. The contrast with South Africa and Scotland is telling.

England have good young players. Watch out for them in 2019.

Well done Cheika and Ledesma.

Very sharp performance, aside from 10 minutes where Phipps tried to hand England the game.

England were out muscled up front really, and everything else came from that. Aus just so devastating at the breakdown, it reminded me of the game the beat the ABs in early in the year.

I for one am sad for the world cup to see the hosts go out early. It means the tournament loses quite a bit.

F@ck that was painful, well played Oz the ribbing I'm going to get from my Ozzie relatives will be bad. Still think NZ will take it but not getting through the group is bad. Coaching team has to go 4 years and nothing to show for it. :x

the problem is the result has buried English rugby as a team that the wider nation will get behind. so many transient fans will have tuned in and watched us capitulate against Wales and then not turn up against Australia.

a home world cup for fudge sake and we've been utterly, utterly humiliated.

Does Cheika have a blocked nose, or is his accent always that nasal? He sounds like Alfie Langer.

I'm heartbroken. Sniff. Well played Oz. Fully deserved win.

Losing to Wales was bad enough.

Young's kick over the dead ball line first off, killed off any hopes I might have had.

I'm having a glass of Aussie Shizaz.

Cheers to you.

Not even close. The Wallabies would pummel the ABs at the moment.
+1

ABs need to pull finger. I don't like Hansen saying they are keeping their powder dry when they are dropping everything.

Commiserations England. Tough game.

The last 10 minutes against Wales will haunt them for years. England should have closed that game out.

The writing was on the wall against France & Ireland boys, Coaching staff not 1st class, Captain not worth a place in any 6N team, Clueless in attack, pack just average, start planning for next WC boys, get rid of your old boys, bring in fresh young talent and bring them on, England won under 20's WC, bring them through.

Wouldn't have made a difference. This Aussie side is even better than we previously thought.
They shouldn't have let it come to this match though. They've been all over the shop the last few matches, and Lancaster just hasn't taken charge.

Too many 'decent' players in this team, not enough brilliant/creative/enforcing players. And the coach fits the same description.

But feel sorry for the English fans, pretty tough pill to swallow.
There was a consistent refusal to pick game breakers like Cipriani and Wade

People don't realize the extra pressure a team faces playing a big tournament at home. It may be a bigger accomplishment to win a home RWC than to win away.

Well played Australia.

Should have been 2 yellows, Burgess was lucky not to be sent to the bin with Farrell.

We're just playing to our usual level. We turn up and occasionally rise above mediocrity. What's shocking is how poor the forwards have been. We're used to at least making teams work for a win, God alone knows what has happened.

Congratulations Australia, great win but expected.
There is not a poster on this board who hasn't felt the pain of World Cup failure , so I hope there is not too much heckling of the English fans, commiserations.
As Wales is my no2 team ( played 3 years in Cardiff) I was cheering strongly for the Ozzies, that team would beat the AB's on what we have seen so far and quite comfortably.
The overhead shots are the death of 2 decades of English scrumming, their tactics are obvious for all to see.

ben youngs just lived the austin healey moment of his career.

sorry eng fans but robshaw isn't an international class player. 7s don't have to be scavengers but they do need to cover defend and be quick enough to support at the breakdown.
