My first attempt at a match thread :) I felt we needed one, as the other semi-final has a thread already.

Not a bad first effort. Needs refs and which TV station for starters.

And much more spite about saracens. Fecking tons of spite

Thanks. I don't think the ref has been announced yet. And I was going to put the TV channels in, but I somehow forgot to. I'll do that now.

Oh yeah. F*ck those North London salary cap cheats**! Bastards! And Chris Ashton too. Wanker. Anyone remember him slipping whilst trying to catch a box kick at AP, and Wasps scoring in the corner? Great memories :)

**Unless Wasps are cheating it too. Then it's fine

Well, they managed to avoid self-destruction (by the seat of their pants/skin of the teeth), relegation & evaporation, find an interested, wealthy businessman, bought themselves a stadium and looking at the published annual report, seem to be doing okay...

There's a movie in the works. Tom Hardy's signed on to play Dai Young and is on a 15000 calorie a day diet to get the look down.

I suppose there's something to be said for beating a team that wins trophies when your own team isn't winning them. I know I was ecstatic when Quins beat Saracens this year, even though it wasn't by 41 points.

Was thinking about going to this, but then realised it's actuality quicker to get to City Road than Madjeski from North London. Crazy.

So, Sarries go into the match on the back of an underwhelming home win vs Quins. Meanwhile, Wasps score 8 tries away at Worcester. Sarries have looked fairly ordinary for the last two matches IMO.

On the other hand, we shipped 6 tries to Worcester.

Sarries trouble in the scrum should be manna from heaven from Wasps. Full strength front row yesterday got something of a walloping from Quins.

Played some good stuff in the loose though

And 2 of the 8 tries were intercepts. Wuss should have won!!!!

Defence is all about intensity, and we had none against Wuss, we just scored when we needed to. Not worried, just off the back of a huge Exeter performance, with half an eye on a semi-final against Sarries.

Lineout worries me though, especially against Kruis and Itoje.

I think you'll find the old club, London Wasps, won those.

This new franchise hasn't anything to their name yet.

Unless you also think MK Dons won the FA Cup in 1988

Franchise are making their own history though

We're completely fucked in that phase. Saracens will be able to kick the ball off the park with gay abandon knowing they will secure easy possession.

Wasps v Tiggers final would be rather poetic given that was the draw the last time an English Club won the European Cup. So a similar result would suits Wasps fans perfectly.

However I think the best side in the comp. is a full strength Saracens. It's theirs to lose.

Wasps didn't break it at all, and our owner ended up as the lone voice shouting for a fixed date for the investigation to be resumed. Was also the first to come out and categorically state that we didn't break it, and we weren't involved in any settlement payments (can't call them fines).

sarries are scum

wasps are a bit plastic and newly cashed up but they were reportedly one of the most vociferous clubs against lenient treatment of the salary cap cheats so i doubt theyre breaking it

They are indeed. Apparently rugby mad and loves wasps. His missus and his daughter were apparently at an A game (this was last season) and familiar with the players names etc, so suggests it's far from just a business thing.

On my single visit to the Ricoh I bumped into Nick Eastwood (deputy chairman), and he apologised for it being a bloody awful game to watch, and his missus asked if I knew what had happened in the quins/saints game (botica screwed up kicking the ball dead, and lost quins the game), so it looks like they're rather into their rugby as a family too. Nice to know those at the top enjoy it.

"and loves Wasps" I'm sure he does, he wouldn't have got his hands on the Ricoh at a knock-down price without them.

Saracens this week then next week Exeter. If Wasps win that one they are all but guarnteed a home semi against Exeter and if they lose Exeter will have their destiny in their own hands

He probably would, if he'd wanted it badly enough. The Ricoh wasn't exactly in high demand

Slightly torn on this one. I love the way Wasps play and they have some super players.

But Saracens have more EQP's and it would be good for England if they won the whole comp.

Debatable. I don't think England benefits more one way or the other really. The really good news for England is that the Premiership is producing a good number of teams producing good quality rugby.
