Leinster are running out of excuses. Bar SOB pretty much all the players are available, they're just playing poorly, especially the older/more experienced heads.
Locks were non-existent today, saw more good stuff from Mick Kearney than Triggs and Toner combined. Once VdF went off and Ruddock ran out of steam the backrow flagged badly. Daverage had another day of contributing next to nothing. And then the one good thing in the scrum Clancy made sure to sabotage. And the scrum seemed to be the only way we were going to score today.

This was always going to be a transition year, but you'd expect some improvements at the end. Leo needs to do more homework, or get more support, over the summer.
How long to you have Nacewa for?
Cause he will be a massive loss when he goes (again). He just so much smarter than most other players on the field.
He, like all of Leinster's backs other than Teo, did the square route of fudge all.

How's that.
Clancy had a homer Earl.
I think somebody called it earlier in the week.

Clancy hates Ulster.
Clancy hates Leinster.
Clancy is a homer.

By giving you some lovely calls, and by not penalizing Ulster cynical play as Leinster were steamrolling towards the line.
Not questioning the result, which was well-deserved, or the yellow cards, but there has to be some consistency.

If you say so.

Fairly sure Leinster conceded less penalties than Ulster.

And I'm not sure what that's got to do with the scrum.

hmm...

No.

Daverage was beyond shite, Nacewa did pretty well for the minimal ball that came his way.

Refs seem to be very reluctant to hand out YCs despite long maul drives.
and tbh, there was no way we were stopping that one legally.

I think it's still along the lines of "if you pull the maul down again... I'll give you another warning not to pull the maul down".

I suspect the authorities are terrified of what rugby would become if PT's and YC's were dished out like they could be at maul time.
Kick to the corner and stuff it up the jumper.
Repeat for 80 mins.

Isa is great and intelligent player, but I'm not sure the body is able to do what the mind knows to do.

Daverage was poor, Rob mixed some good stuff with poor stuff, Ringrose was okay but targeted smartly by Ulster, Te'o did well but as the main threat Ulster knew to expect him. McGrath okay, Sexton is slowly working out an attack with Te'o, but he's not his old self yet.

Luke better start ahead of Daverage next time, and fingers crossed that the Academy lads come good next year...

Well that was absolutely delicious.

Started with a pack that was serviceable at best and ended up romping home. Despite Leinsters best efforts a game of rugby broke out in the second half.

Highlights for me were Jackson comprehensively outplaying Sexton (Payne's try was a particular highlight) and Jared Payne showing everyone that he is the best fullback in Ireland.

It also bears mentioning that Rory Scholes who has had to leave Ulster to get more game time is head and shoulders above Average Dave in every facet of the game.

Mad Roger even turned up in the final twenty with a
barnstorming charge and a delightful turnover off Heaslip.

I'm very much sure of it, Nacewa isn't the player he was at all anymore.

Leinster over 60% territory and possession but Ulster with more yards made, loads more line breaks (13 vs 4) and that's from the key stat, Leinster missed 22 tackles, 69% completion.

Execution of Ulster backs on another stratosphere to Leinster's.

What has to happen now for Ulster to get top 4?

My fun bet on them to reach the final (33/1 four weeks ago) looks like it's got some legs now?

What are the likely semi final pairings?

Leinster are there for the taking
Connacht running on empty

I reckon it's between Glasgow and whoever the last team that joins them in the top 4

Wow. That was a real Fukc you, Joe. I hope he at least gets to tour this Summer. He has to have earned a chance by this stage.

Well done Ulster.

As always, Leinster were too dull and conservative when it counted.

There's a real gulf there. I still think Leinster have the better pack but if the Ulster pack can break anyway even like they did today, they can stuff a lot of teams.

My first post following the debacle in Belfast.

Ulster superior everywhere except the scrum. I thought the penalty try was an incorrect decision as I believe ball would have gone dead, both yellow cards correct, Reddan is a total liability off the bench and Leinster are still soft in the big games.

Jackson was excellent for Ulster but Pieenar is still the man who makes Ulster tick.

Glasgow look like they will take this league with ease.

Our options are Paul Marshall or Ruan, it's hardly a surprise that we are a better team with Pienaar at nine.

Though that said when McCall was on during Black's blood subs we had parity if not the edge, and later on he really did have Ross on toast.

The only reason I can think of for McCall not starting is that they are trying to manage his game time and conditioning.

He is but then he seems to have a decent engine and turn of pace for a prop as well.

Yep best thing about him is his work rate and the number of tackles he puts in so fitness can't be that much of a concern.

Typical prop, always scrummaging at an angle.

Proper prop, the likes of which we haven't had since losing Deccie Fitz.
