He should just appear on stage with him, if he can't stand up to Trump spouting a mix of inanity and lies he shouldn't be running. I think Pelosi was silly to go there but suspect that the Trump Team has done such a great job lowering expectations for Biden that Joe will navigate the debates fine.

Someone made the point Trump is lowering the expectations for Biden with every charge of dementia, something that failed when Biden managed to read his convention speech without messing up. If Biden comes out not having attacked Obama he might get close to a pass mark, whereas Trump will need something special and something special that appears to more than crazy people, to the extent the debates will mean anything
