I think Trump has done ok but the desperate hope was Biden would fall apart. It hasn't happened and Trump is the one who needs to make ground

Trump can't even bring himself to criticise white supremacist groups. :uhoh:

No. Somebody from CSPAN and then someone from NBC.

You say
The price of my love’s not a price that you’re willing to pay
You cry
In your tea which you hurl in the sea when you see me go by
Why so sad?
Remember we made an arrangement when you went away
Now you’re making me mad
Remember, despite our estrangement, I’m your man
You’ll be back, soon you’ll see
You’ll remember you belong to me
You’ll be back, time will tell
You’ll remember that I served you well
Oceans rise, empires fall
We have seen each other through it all
And when push comes to shove
I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love!

[Chorus: KING GEORGE ]
Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da
Da da dat dat da ya da!
Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da
Da da dat dat da…

[Verse 2: KING GEORGE]
You say our love is draining and you can’t go on
You’ll be the one complaining when I am gone...
And no, don’t change the subject
Cuz you’re my favorite subject
My sweet, submissive subject
My loyal, royal subject
Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever…

Biden cleared a very low bar and simultaneously hasn't been a super human powered by drugs and tech.

I think if you're trailing by 7 points this isn't going to help IMO.

Cheers, I guessed that would have been the case. I probably should have known that but these usually happen at an inconvenient time for me, this one however was at 07.30 for me, but I might not bother watching another one.

And TBH it would be a bit cruel to make Wallace host another one. I would love to know his thoughts on this one.

Trump interrupted Joe Biden every single time he spoke. That debate was pretty much a farce. More generally speaking, America is in much more trouble than I thought.

Biden's winning.

The Commission on Presidential Debates should like the Federal Election Commission be disestablished for being a failure.

The CPD debates were shit before Trump came along. Both campaign staffs make sure in the rules the moderators are neutered and they can never be effectively challenged by the moderator on anything. Plus it's a privately funded enterprise designed in the 1980s by the Republicans and Democrats to make sure the game stays closed to them.

As FR said, the campaigns would not accept it. Would be interesting to see what would happen if they tried though - do the networks need the debates as much as the candidates need the air time?

The results are in...
George Stephanopoulos of ABC News described the event as “the worst presidential debate I’ve ever seen in my life.”
MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell said the debate was “a disgrace.”
CNN commentator Van Jones said, “They say this was a circus. Circus workers reached out to my team. They say, actually, we take offense.”
“That was a hot mess, inside a dumpster fire, inside a train wreck,” CNN anchor Jake Tapper said. “That was the worst debate I have ever seen. It wasn’t even a debate. It was a disgrace. And it’s primarily because of President Trump.”

CNN correspondent Dana Bash put it even more succinctly: “That was a shitshow.”

I've watched quite s few and no candidate has ever interrupted anywhere near as much as Trump in any of them.
