This is about what is right.

Biden's win means nothing if Mitch remains the most powerful man in the country, though. If the Republicans hold on to the Senate - which is now looking extremely likely - there is nothing any Democrat president can do. It will be four years of deliberate obstruction and Republican finger-pointing and blame. Certainly the money needed to help the most vulnerable recover from the covid crisis will not be forthcoming.

Nicely done, Kentucky and others. Good thinking. When your elected representatives fudge you over, vote them in again and blame the Democrats.

Another 61k votes released in Maricopa AZ.

25k for Biden
36k for Trump

Getting squeaky there (though potentially still waiting on some Bluer counties too?).

I dont want to get ahead of myself here but if Biden does win, you wouldn't fancy his chances of re-election either. In his 80s, if he's still in office.

Biden's pretty much always been a moderate republican in Democrat colours. He's pro-big business, anti-free health acre, voted for policies that specifically screwed the poor to benefit big business, doesn't believe in government support for the poorer off who have to learn to pay their way and hawkish on war.

If anything a GOP senate will allow Biden to be the president he wants to be and has an excuse with those to the left of him to not enact those policies he clearly doesn't believe in.

It is time for western societies to dump the USA and look to beat its own path. America is morally corrupt and without a compass. Remember its condemnation of apartheid South Africa? Its backing of the ANC? America is a racist society, geared to protect a white minority's wealth and way of life. A society in decline, whose system of governance has created a breed of class geared to holding onto power by manipulation, corruption and the suppression of the publics rights. These politicians do not create anything, do not work, they simply manipulate society and the press to stay in the news cycle.

Australia should look to distance itself from such a frivolous ally of ill repute and low standing in the world. Take the central path with allies like Canada and the EU. Avoid S T U P I D!
Like it or not. The US has always been crazy, especially with Republicans in charge. But with China rising NATO is basically the US military an the only country that can bat back China's even more toxic influence.

I think Maricopa - which incudes Phoenix - is one of the bluer counties. :?

One of the analysts here is saying if Trump keeps picking up 60 odd per cent of the vote like that he will sneak home in AZ.

He has far from no chance what coverage are you watching? Biden more likely to win but the win will be by such a narrow margin that Trump can claim shenanigans and keep this going in the courts for a long time.

I was thinking that maybe having Biden as president (and he seems very likely in Pennsylvania, regardless of what happens in Arizona) with a republican senate, actually gives them the chance to move on from the Trump years, and have both sides forced to work together to pass legislation, rather then the radical extremes of either party.
