I have a feeling that relationship will end in tears, as happened with Cohen. As seems to happen with so many people who get close to Trump.

There's going to be law suit after law suit, and Trump won't be happy when most of them fail.

The fear now, as mentioned by a few pundits, is that the Republicans know that many Americans are okay or agree with the worst parts of Trumpism. Next time they might have somebody actually competent doing it.

If he appears too competent, he won't appeal to 80% of these people at least.

So he/she will have to be a great actor, or be another Trump.

It was essentially Ted Cruz's schtick when lining himself up for President. Anything goes in the name of righteous conservatism. Look at me, I'm shutting down big bad government. If it wasn't for Trump's ascent he might have made it work too. Now he just comes across as a watered down wannabe.

What does the gap in votes have to be for a recount to be interesting?

I would have thought anything more than a few thousand and a recount becomes pointless.

Wisconsin had a recount for the last election. They changed 130 votes or so, on a margin of 10,000ish.

Trump leads by 109K votes in PA, with 370K ballots to go.

So that would mean Biden needs 65% of those 370K ballots.

Biden would need to win only 60 percent of the outstanding vote (mostly mail-in ballots) in Pennsylvania in order to carry the state. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jonathan Tamari, Biden had won 78 percent of the mail votes counted as of this morning.
They say 550K left to be tabulated.

The most technologically advanced nation in the world can't count votes.
I am reading that vote counting won't be over even by the weekend.

Also this year's voting was a nightmare. First I tried to vote on Sunday. The line was so long that people were standing in line for 3 hours. Supposedly because of Covid 19, they did not want to allow too many people into the voting room.

So I went to vote on Tuesday instead. I was there at around 7:30 am. I stood in line and finally got to the voting room at around 8:45 am. When I got to the voting room was even more crowded than it was in 2016. Covid be damned. There were over 40 people in that room. So much for social distancing.

They must do better in 2024. Surely this can be computerized. If student exams on scantron sheets can be marked by computers then why can't ballots? Also they should allow voting to go on for a month to allow everyone to vote. And no more postal ballots please. Just open up more voting locations.

Nevada counted only 10% of the votes yesterday? They counted 65% on election night, 24 hrs later they've managed 76%

Police is actually a serious problem. They're targeting people of colour. Defunding it targets certain areas such as the police union which can be sponsored by outside interests.
