The inability to score anything better than AOC explains the derangement of some of the guys on here.

I follow 538 - they gave him a 30% chance against Hillary. The polls were right tbf - she won the popular vote by 3 million votes. The electoral college is harder to pic as state polls are less frequent and have smaller numbers.
Plus, the NYT ran with more front page stories about the FBI re-opening the investigation into Clinton's emails, which turned out to be nothing in 6 Days of the final week Before the election, than they did on policy differences between the candidates in the last 4 months Before the election.
They also led the charge with the false info justifying the Iraq invasion fwiw. Good paper, that.

He's getting the band back together.Joe Biden’s transition team has informed Democratic officials that Gina Raimondo, the centrist governor of Rhode Island, is under consideration as the next Secretary of the Treasury should Biden win the election, multiple sources have confirmed to the Prospect.
Raimondo, in her second term as governor, dazzled Biden’s campaign in interviews to become his vice president back in June. A former venture capitalist who took the governor’s mansion on the strength of millions of dollars in Wall Street donations, Raimondo’s name will stir the long memories of union leaders. They have held a grudge with her for years over her tenure as state treasurer, when she cut pension benefits for public employees, while steering over $1 billion in state money to hedge fund investments.

Re: POTUS-DONALD TRUMP-and U.S. Politics catch-all
Fine, I shouldn't have said vote -- at least without first establishing that you'd have to take voting as a non-negotiable duty. Considering a majority of eligible voters actually showed up for the embarrassment of 2016, it stands to reason that a lot of people probably adhere to this view.4071 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 8:29 am
No, what you are doing is pretending that a fictional and purely binary choice is exactly the same as a non-fictional, non-binary choice in order to reach a conclusion about my position that is entirely at odds with my actual stated position.
In a non-hypothetical, non-binary situation (such as an election) there is the option to not vote. Most people took that option in 2016, for example. As I stated, in the hypothetical situation offered that would have been my option because voting FOR a narcissistic sociopath is not an option. You have somehow, bizarrely, taken that to mean I would have voted for Trump if I agreed with his policies.
This is not just a stretch, it is actually the opposite of my stated position.
But my overall point was not so much what you'd have done, as it was that, in the choice between decent-chap-I-disagree-with and maniacal-asshole-I-agree-with, even you'd prefer to have the guy you agree with. In other words, the cuntiness is ultimately a secondary concern.
Considering how many seem to consider Trumpian cuntiness to be categorically disqualifying, and often say things like "omg how coud anyone vote for him, even conservatives", I thought that your post showed how it could happen, and how people really make a decision in decent-chap-I-disagree-with vs. maniacal-asshole-I-agree-with. If, yes, they insist on voting and don't want to blow their vote on a third party.

The Democrats broadly span B and C. The Republicans have a bit of B but are mostly A. Biden is B but relies on C to get into power and is thus beholden to them in some significant ways. However there is a quiet civil war going on between B and C and we will see that spring to life within months of a Biden Presidency. So a choice of Raimondo would be a B move and would be opposed by the Cs. Biden is also going to have to have some Cs in his administration. So you see its not a contradiction to say that Biden will do B but also be susceptible to C. It's actually quite basic.

Half the reason she gets so much airtime is because Fox knows every time she opens her mouth she'll say something totally idiotic that will offer their viewers the rare opportunity to point and laugh at the other side's stupidity.

Biden is a weak leader. He's only a figurehead. Most of the people who got him into power are Cs or Bs that have cynically used Cs or C ideology to gain or maintain their own power. Harris is one of those people (a B using Cs if not an actual C). Given Biden's fragility Harris is very close to the throne.TheFrog wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 8:24 pmTwo things. So the C impact will either be a direct assumption of power over Biden's slowly cooling corpse, or an indirect one through all the deals he has to do.
What the Bs don't get is that once the As have been sidelined the Cs are coming for them.
