Yes.

That was an opportunity to do something that actually benefited the planet.

It is, of course possible that Trump is playing some kind of deep negotiating ploy, I suppose. Possible but, unlikely.

That is the house. No, I believe it is no longer the corporate HQ of Rothmans. A private family appears to have moved in. Our friend the German vicar told me he does not know much about them. Very mysterious.

Does this new occupant talk about Wobbledon and kiddiwinks?

Nah, he has been totally played as predicted from the beginning. Kim comes out looking like he has tried, Trump looks like the child he is.

Fûck me I really hope not.

How many NK commemorative coins did they make?

Should be able to get a few from his golf courses.

Wise investment, you can make a lot of money off things like that.

https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-us-canada-44242558

Quote:
He said he had made the decision based on the "tremendous anger and open hostility" in a recent North Korean statement.

Mr Trump said it would be "inappropriate" to hold the summit as scheduled in Singapore on 12 June.

In a letter to Mr Kim, he said he was very much looking forward to meeting him "some day".

"I was very much looking forward to being there with you. Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have the long-planned meeting," Mr Trump said.

"You talk about your nuclear capabilities, but ours are so massive and powerful that I pray to God they will never have to be used," he added.

Mr Trump ended his letter by saying Mr Kim should call him if he changed his mind.

"The world, and North Korea in particular, has lost a great opportunity for lasting peace and great prosperity and wealth. This missed opportunity is a truly sad moment in history," he said.

read that passage through in Trump's voice

I don't really think this impacts on the prospects for peace in the world, as NK is only a bit part player on that stage.

The summit was a bad idea and Trump got played again. He needs to stop watching Fox and listening to anyone associated with Mike Pence.

He is a selfish lover bringing them to the brink but then suddenly pulling away. It is a delicate ploy but one that will only intensify their eventual inevitable climax.

In what sense got played?

Looks like NK overplayed their hand and The Donald walked. Looks like a better option than pressing ahead and doing a deal at any cost to save face.

...sadly it leaves him with a seriously pissed off China and S Korea on his hands.

Once again its not what he has done but the way he has done it.

The fact that he jumped the gun in offering the meeting. There were no prep talks before and how almost all other international negotiators stated that meetings like this come at the end of long negotiations and that leaders don't shake hands or sitdown until the states people have hammered out almost everything else. But what did they know. It is not like anybody who had negotiated with NK couldn't have told him that.

He, & his experts, also completely ignored the advice & experience of all the previous diplomats, (from both Parties Administrations), who warned him that NH would lead them along, & then do an about face & leave the US looking like fools.

It was always a fools errand, because the only thing that would satisfy the US, would be NH giving up all nuclear weapons & efforts to develop them, & that was something that was never, ever going to happen.

I love that coin. Just imagine if Kim had not been merking Trump all along. He would have pulled out anyway having seen that coin. Must have been personally approved by Trump.
