Beale (finally) goooooooooooooooooooooone....

Post by L. Ron Hubbard »

An exclusive report in Friday's London Times reveals Wallabies star Kurtley Beale will become the highest-paid player in England when he joins Wasps next season on a two-year, £1.5 million ($2.96 million) contract.

The London-based side are believed to see Beale's future in the centre, with former Melbourne Rebels teammate Danny Cipriani pulling the strings at five-eighth.
The 27-year-old has been in fine form for his Super Rugby team this season and the move would come as a blow to the Waratahs as well as the Wallabies, who appear to have failed to convince him to stay in Australian rugby.

Beale's staggering two-year deal worth £750,000 per year ($1.48 million) will eclipse that of England and Leicester centre Manu Tuilagi, who rakes in £425,000 ($839,000) per season.

Of the six top earners for the 2016/17 season, there are two Australians (Beale, Matt Toomua), two New Zealanders (John Afoa and Ben Te'o) and a Frenchman (Louis Picamoles).
In better news for the national side, Beale's 60 caps mean that is is still eligible for Wallabies selection while playing club rugby abroad.
Meanwhile, Beale could be joined in England by fellow Wallaby Quade Cooper, after a number of sides made contact with the out-of-favour Toulon five-eighth about his availability for next season.

Top Premiership earners for 2016/17 (according to The London Times)

Kurtley Beale (Wasps) £750,000 ($1.48 million)
Manu Tuilagi (Leicester) £425,000 ($839,205)
Louis Picamoles (Northampton) £420,000 ($829,330)
Matt Toomua (Leicester) £400,000 ($789,840)
John Afoa (Gloucester) £390,000 ($770,095)
Ben Te'o (Worcester) £360,000 ($710,855)

He's in genuinely outstanding form. He's still going to be Wallaby eligible right? Can't blame him for taking that sort of money.

Matt Toomua (Leicester) £400,000 ($789,840)
It's hard to believe that anyone could value a modestly-talented plodder like Toomua so highly.

Christ, they pay a lot of cash for some players I thought weren't even that good as far as internationals go.

Beale, Toomua and Afoa?! fudge me. I'd get £100K up North.

It would be surprising for a wage that high if he has agreed with Wasps to be fully availiable for Oz.

He moved to Australia when he was 8.

I only mention Cooper as he still has an NZ passport and Tamou because he's a plum that had already played for the Junior Kiwis and NZ Maori, had been selected as a train on Kiwi squad member and had expressed his desire to play for the Kiwis then weeks later before being blinded by the C-notes and playing for NSW and Queensland.

Had he played for Queensland, I would've forgiven him.

As a Wasps fan, I really don't want him at the club.

Sure Beale is a talent, albeit a flakey one, but he's also a troublemaker plagued with ill-discipline. The last thing Cipriani needs is that cunt around the place.

Nonsense.

In recent years Beale is a model citizen. He's fit, consistent and one of the best attacking players in the world. You're very lucky to have him; even at such a price.

If you play him at 12 or 15 he'll do very well and you'll be on PR no doubt posting about how much better he is than you realised.

Way over priced and over rated. Gets rid of the poisonous cúnt anyway.

Toomua is valued at that rate due to the fact that he can play 10 and 12.

It will be very easy to see if he will be an issue. If his physique stays lean, as it has been the last couple of years, he is very very good

So if looks like this, best of luck

:? Beale would be a more than capable 10 at premiership level if they chose to play him there. He's played in that position loads of times at international level and has been far more impressive than Toomua. Sure he's had the odd horror show but he's also been brilliant at times

Beale is an okay 10; however he crabs looking for space.

He'd be the best 12 or 15 in the premiership. Rocks in your head to play him at 10 imo.

Brilliant at test level six years ago when he had one outstanding season. He should have been out the gap long ago due to his behavioural issues. Tuqiri did far less wrong off the field than Beale has done over a long period of time and was sacked by the ARU.

I've seen Beale play flyhalf at Super Rugby level he is more brutal than good at the role. Crabbing across the pitch trying to do it all on his own. You can't rely on such an inconsistent player in that role over a 10 month season covering 30 games.

Less said about his game at 10 against the ABs the better.

Firstly, he's not a 10. Only a moron would suggest he's a 10.
Secondly, do you actually know the story about Lote Tuqiri?
Thirdly, Beale was one of Australia's best backs at the recent RWC. Did you watch that tournament?
Fourthly, why are you such a shit poster? Are you also considered a f*ckwit by all and sundry in real life?

Yeah. Six years ago.

You watch much rugby this year?

Beale is in top form

Where did I suggest Beale was a 10? I was responding to deadduck's opinion.

Did Tuqiri get done for drink driving on more than one occasion, drive while suspended, throw his coach under the bus, punch his Super Rugby captain on a bus, face assault complaints? No, none to all of the above.

Yes I did watch the RWC and he was lucky to be selected at all given his poor form prior to the tournament and was lucky to have a contract at all.

Calling someone a shíte poster is rich coming from a fúckwit like you.
