You'd be wrong. Presumably PVD is the producer. He writes the music.

I'm probably wrong about him. Still think that DJs aren't artists though
Singer-songwriter Elise LeGrow pays homage to early soul and rock innovators with intimate, stripped-down interpretations of their hits. Listen as she and her band perform two of these soulful renditions: Chuck Berry's "You Never Can Tell" and "Over the Mountain, Across the Sea," first popularized by Johnnie and Joe.

Jane Weaver - The Architect

Not many pop singers hit their peak in their late 40s, but Jane Weaver's last few albums have been superb. Great synth pop.

"Midnight in a Perfect World" is based around mournful piano sampled from the 1969 song "The Human Abstract" by David Axelrod. Aside from the Axelrod sample, the track also samples "Sower of Seeds" by Baraka, "Sekoilu Seestyy" by Pekka Pohjola, "Releasing Hypnotical Gases" by Organized Konfusion, "Dolmen Music" by Meredith Monk, and "California Soul" by Marlena Shaw
I agree, not an artist, considering that the DJ copied and remixed other artists' creative products. Saying a DJ is a musician or an artist is like saying decoupaging table tops and ostrich eggs is an art

Anyway, back to decent music.

Reptile - Peter Murphy, Trant Reznor, Atticus Ross, Twiggy Ramirez

Peter Murphy is most definitely one of the greatest vocalists of the last 40-odd years. Legend.
