Where's Openside?
Not seen him for a while.

flounced after a silly ban - i think
Re: Where's Openside?
Missed that. A pity. He's a good bloke. Played a round of golf with him at a PR day, so I know who he is. I'll mail him.Calculus wrote:flounced after a silly ban - i think

Helping out a mate if memory serves. Mentioned something about moving furniture or something?

I permabanned him.
Re: Where's Openside?
Reported by a thin skinned Aussie for what was clearly a (quite funny) joke.

Fair enough. What sin did he commit? I like and liked him. Am I in the sights too? This place will become a desert soon.ZappaMan wrote:I permabanned him.

Have we lost the will to live on here? I take a lot of flak on here but as a 10 you are used to that. I just shrug it off. I've never reported a soul. I do my battles in public. There you go Mahoney.bimboman wrote:Reported by a thin skinned Aussie for what was clearly a (quite funny) joke.

Bet that's been taken down. We don't want to lose posters like him who add a bit of an edge on here.Anonymous. wrote:Link ?bimboman wrote:Reported by a thin skinned Aussie for what was clearly a (quite funny) joke.
It started with Southern Softie and went downhill from there.
I love this place as I love rugby and the banter can be as good as it gets.
I'm looking around now for an alternative. I cannot believe OS has been permabanned, but then, I got a ridiculous warning for just identifying a chap in a group "inappropriately".
As a life-long active opposer of apartheid, that really stuck in my craw.
This place is dying.

What I'd like to know is who is responsible? Is it a renegade mod driven by petty vendettas, or are the mods acting on orders from higher up. Is there an unstated policy of rooting out "undesirable" posters?globus wrote:Bet that's been taken down. Re: Where's Openside?
Bit of a waste of effort permatanning OS, I'd have thought.
Re: Where's Openside?
Jake has been pretty clear that the forum exists out of the goodness of the hearts of the main site owners. Most here never use it, so this place is a drain on resources.Eight_Eye wrote:What I'd like to know is who is responsible? So I wouldn't be surprised if any clamping down on shitposting was done to avoid drawing the attention of Ole Media Group.

Dry your eyes princess, I haven't 'escaped' a ban at all, if what I said was banworthy I would have been banned simples.
Re: Where's Openside?
Pretty tasteless comment from OS.
And now that he's gone I feel I can stick the boot in without consequence.

But there is so much other shitposting that gets bypassed. Not that I'm complaining, but it all seems so arbitrary.Zakar wrote:Jake has been pretty clear that the forum exists out of the goodness of the hearts of the main site owners. I say that when this place finally collapses, we all move to the underworld of the Dark Web where we can dwell in delicious chaos and shitpost all we like.

Re: Where's Openside?
Was this the one where DCM repeatedly asked for the picture to be taken down and you, in the true spirit of anti-apartheid you are patting yourself on the back for, kept posting it? Or is it some other revisionist story you're trying to tell?globus wrote:Bet that's been taken down. It's very concerning really.
His wife is in the Bahamas with some younger gentlemen whilst I'm here, all on my lonesome, drinking my way through his cellar whilst sitting on his gorgeous new patio.

Copped a ban for his wittiest ever post on PR. No wonder he was pissed off.Enzedder wrote:Anonymous. wrote:Link ?bimboman wrote:Reported by a thin skinned Aussie for what was clearly a (quite funny) joke.http://forum.planetrugby.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=71595Post subject: Re: 'Aboriginal hunting permit' Posted: 01 Apr 2016 04:45

Tasteless yes. Worthy of a ban I think not. With all his racist and homophobic comments/jokes it's weird that got him a ban. His choice not to post here anymore though.Floppykid wrote:Pretty tasteless comment from OS.

Re: Where's Openside?
Understood he received a temp ban for that comment and hasn't been back since
A shame to lose one of the bored's characters, especially over a throwaway comment - hopefully he can't resist popping back in at some point.

Kiwis, but I don’t think it was a lack of humour. More lack of spine to stand up to a few crying Aussies who reported/complained about the joke.Bokkom wrote:Calculus wrote:Copped a ban for his wittiest ever post on PR. I figured this thread was gonna be some sort of joke about whether anyone had heard from him following Orlando.

Obviously the ones who are unable to face The Mirror.
Ask Shanky about that, though.
