They say a man is judged by the company he keeps and as such, whilst I am sympathetic to many of the arguments and issues outlined by the Leave campaign, I could not, in good conscience, throw my lot in with swivel-eyed loons like Farage, Gove, Boris, Silver and Dai et al.

I voted 'Remain'.

It was a tough call but I suspect my last minute change of heart will be replicated up and down the country.

The 'Remain' campaign may have had a difficult task and may have run an appalling campaign but when push came to shove, 'Leave' lacked credibility and, as is often the way in such referenda, guarantees.

It's a shame that you felt the need to distrust your natural gut instincts because of a few petty, hate-filled remainers scaremongering. But I suppose that is democracy - your right to choose. It's just a shame that those voting remain are practically voting to give away that right.

Also I have seen after the scots referendum that if you don't get the result you want, you can just bang on about the subject forever and try to get another referendum and claim your view is still the right one.

Lots of reasons why but mostly because in having taught European Law for c 17 years, it is clearly true that if one allows 60% of one's laws in the form of rules, regulations and directives (usually in the form of Statutory Instruments - not Acts of Parliament - but still binding law) to override one's own Acts of Parliament, judicial decisions and manifesto commitments, then one can no longer describe one's own country as sovereign or independent.

Pooling sovereignty is still loss of sovereignty.

Correction. Its a loss of some sovereignty. And if that bothers you greatly then presumably you should be in favour of a breakup of the UK as well and the abandonment of all international treaties etc.

It's going to be 2ish before any indicators, 3 or 4 before the writing on the wall, and maybe 7 for the result as far as I can tell.

I voted in. Started that way, listened to the arguments, thought they were pretty weak, so stayed with my gut instincts and values.

To me, there is a total absence of a credible plan (or credible leaders) sufficient to leave.

Started off as undecided but the Leave campaign, and all the nonsense they spouted, together with some very good pro IN arcticles - made it an easy choice.

I think the Leave Campaign's credibility was also badly tarnished by the likes of Boris, Farage, Gove et al. And they never came up with any independent research that suggested we'd be anything but worse off if we left. Basically the only argument they really put forward was regarding Immigration.

Major problems with even trying an exit poll for this; no baseline data from the last referendum, so no way of adjusting for demographics, time of polling etc. Short of polling everyone at every station they have no real way of working out what the exit poll info would actually mean

If it really is very close then it won't be 6am - they're expecting the final 4 local counts to come through around 7am-ish, so anything really tight will have to wait on them. Obviously they're reporting as they go, so the more decisive it is the early we'll know, regardless of the official announcement

Remain I believe probably need to have wrapped it up by 4:30.

If they haven't, all the regions after that are heavily leave. I ain't a clue what's going on.

The reason there is no exit poll for this referendum is because there's no way to compare samples like a at a general election.

For example, how did people in say Bethnal Green, Henley, Glasgow and Nuneaton vote last time?

What's the change in vote from the parties?

Various other statistics involved but this is the basic gist.

The main problem with this is Britain has not voted on Europe in a plebiscite since the 70s and there is thus no way to make a meaningful analysis.

The guy who called 2015 explained much better than me but words to the effect this is why there are no exit polls.
