Sounds about right. I know some people who actually believe Corbyn will be PM 1 day. It's like a cult

On this one, I'm slightly amused that the pro-Stramer side is attacking Abbott and co for slagging off Starmer, as if Corbyn didn't have the other side of the party slagging him off for 4 years and Starmer leading much of the opposition against him. Fair's fair in that regard.

As if a whole programme blowing smoke up millionnaire Sir Keir's arse isn't just party political broadcast.
Oh, he's so different from Corbyn. Oh, he wasn't really a remainer. Oh, he's so forensically clever (and different to Corbyn).

A student protester or a member of the queen's guard?
Which would you choose if that was your party?

I’ve been impressed with his party control and direction so far.

I think it's a typo ... go and count his gold was what McCluskey said

I think her points are alluding to the way be was willing to drop principles or take-up positions for that goal as opposed to doing it for the right reasons.

They are trying to say he wasn't really a remainer. They have the north to win back, who hated Corbyn and voted leave.

He's never been shy of saying he's in favour of remain but his mandate as leader of the party is to go with the will of the people.
On the other hand Corbyn was a brexiteer who while never denying it refused to have any position at all as his younger voters would have rejected him had he gone with leave.

The Northern voters who voted leave will be a hard fight for Starmer to win over as they're often not Labour voters. Many of the North's Labour voters who favour leave didn't actually bother to vote in the referendum. It's worth keeping in mind for all the jokes about the North being thick as mince it's the South that voted to leave

They spent hundreds of thousands on analysing the dire election result. I'm sure they know what picture they want to paint. Kier wasn't anti Corbyn, he just wanted his job..... Keir might not really have been a remainer, he just wanted the job ... Keir might agree with Corbyn's policies, then again he might not.....

Millionaire Sir Keir Starmer doesn't really have to do anything much at the moment. The Tories are doing it all for him themselves. It's they who have lost their massive lead in the polls not Labour who have clawed it back. It's that idiot Boris who has lost his personal lead on the polls not millionaire Sir Keir Starmer who has clawed it back.
Popping up now and again with things like calling for the circuit break is all he needs to do. He knows it won't happen. Yet he also knows in a months time the massive increase in covid infections because it didn't will be devastating. He will be able to say if only Boris didn't do a Trump and listened to the experts as I did.

He's been doing it all along, like Krankie. CAlling for things when he knows it will happen, then asking 'why the U-turn?' after the facy. He can honour his pact with Boris just by getting the unions and guys like Burnham to do the heavy lifting.
Also wondering if he hsn't been quite ill with the C19

Whether they spent a lot of money or peanuts they'll know it's not about winning back the North who hated Corbyn and voted leave. Though you could easily cite many Northern potential Labour voters who didn't actually vote in the referendum are (or were) broadly sympathetic with leave, so one might call it a distinction without a difference even if they didn't actually vote leave. It is odd though how it's so often called a Northern thing when it was much more about Tory voters in the South

Brexit will still be a thing come the next election, it might not be such a thing but it will be in play. Oddly we might find both the government and the opposition trying to ignore it's a thing, but even if they make that work in England I can think of parties outside England who'll perhaps mention the subject

It's not an alternative label. We've left and calling yourself a remainer 4 years after the transition period has ended would be pathetic (unless you are part of a movement not to re-join). The movement to re-join will be there and it could be massive

No one favours remaining or leaving. Wee Jimmy will bitch and moan that Scotland wanted to remain. The economy of the time will as always be an issue though.
I favour remaining, or rejoining if you need an alternative label. I suspect some would agree and others disagree. Some might not favour either but it's surely not nobody
It's not an alternative label. We've left and calling yourself a remainer 4 years after the transition period has ended would be pathetic (unless you are part of a movement not to re-join). The movement to re-join will be there and it could be massive
Fine, we've left, sort of, but typically people still identify with remain/leave. I'd like the campaign to rejoin to be further along, but the Brexiters are screwing even that up by not actually sorting out the leaving part
And for the record I'll have no issue adopting a pathetic position in another 4 years, or even another 40 though that might be a little optimistic
