Sooo, All Star teams?

Order of BS snubs, IMO.

1 - Chris Paul
2 - Paul George
3 - Chris George (AKA Andre Drummond).

Ben Simmons & Lou Williams can also feel hard done by, but there's only so many spots.

NBA wants legalized gambling on smartphones and other widely available means. They want 1% of every dollar wagered. Would be a huge cash windfall for them if it happens.

Goddamnit I love Lou Williams, really was hoping he’d make it.

Last season would have been more appropriate but would have liked to see Goran Dragic in there for once. Made an All-NBA team but still no All Star nod. Having another great year on a real sleeper of a team in Miami.

It’s so hard to get in if you play in the backcourt.

Seems as though the All Star thing is a bit of a joke. Four from the GSW? Durant I get but Curry seems to be riding on a wave of popularity from dick riding fans. And I say that as a casual.

Nah, Curry is ludicrously good at scoring and is solid on everything else. He's a legit superstar.

Green & Thompson are kind of lucky to be there this year, IMO. Thompson especially.

Curry is #1 in Real Plus Minus and #3 in Box Plus Minus. Averaging 27.5-6.5-5 in traditional stats. He's having a great year by just about any measure.

I don't like the bandwagon fans either, but Curry is a top five player in the league, a 2 time MVP, and possibly the best shooter the game has ever known. He's legitimate.

Curry has an interesting backstory in that he was not highly sought after when he was younger. When he came out of high school, none of the top colleges in the US would recruit him because apparently he was too small. The one college he did want to play for was Virginia Tech because his father went there. However, VT did not offer him a full scholarship. Curry went to a lesser known college Davidson and he led them to the final 4 in the national tornument three years later. He was drafted into the NBA the year after and selected by the Warriors. The rest is history.

Urgh All Star weekend. The absolute most repugnant part of the season, although I'm not sure what is worst. All Star weekend or hearing the cringeworthy comments from Kiwis who think Adams should be an All Star.

He's not yet All Star level, but he's actually not that far off. If he was doing the same thing in a bigger market he'd be a fringe All Star. But the word 'snub' should not be used in any headlines about him (ditto Aussie media & Ben Simmons).

Ben Simmons is an interesting case for consideration though. I think had he been named he would be a worthy selection but at the same time I don't believe he has been snubbed. The triple double he just put up was incredible. I really hope Simmons and Embiid can remain injury free and stay together for a few seasons.

Adams is putting up some good numbers however until he develops his offensive skill set I don't really think he would ever be worthy of NBA first or second team status. He is the classic typecast garbage man but he is not and without intending to be disparaging of him because I love him like I love Riche McGoat he never will be a franchise player.

Good link there btw Jay Cee Gee. I know the current trend is more 3 pointers but that really is only a good strategy for teams with at least 3 excellent 3 point shooters and one of those must be able to drop bombs from the dribble. E.g Warriors. You have to play to your strengths and taking it strong to the rim is Westbrooks game and complements OKC other players.

Well, All NBA teams and Franchise players are both levels above All Star. If he upped his scoring by 4 or 5 ppg and averaged double figure rebounds (which he'd be doing now if it weren't for team tactics), he'd be a good chance of getting there. He's not gonna be a multi year All Star, but I wouldn't be surprised if he made it once or twice by the end of his career (especially if he got traded to the East).

If you see him in shootarounds, he's actually got a decent shooting touch, he just doesn't use it in games, but it wouldnt' surprise me to see him start using it more in the next few years.

Why do think All NBA teams are above All Star and franchise player status? Imo they should be the same thing, teams made up of the best players in the world.

It's sad Steve is reluctant to play for the NZ team because I think a stint in a team where he is the go to man would help him (and the Thunder) out of sight. Unfortunately in OKC he won't get that opportunity to develop and he is far too humble to take a more selfish approach to his team and his own detriment.

Well, there's 24 All Star spots and only 15 All NBA spots so by definition the latter is harder to achieve.

Franchise player is a bit more of a fuzzy concept obviously, but I'd argue it means a player you can build a title contender around as the star player - guys like Curry, Durant, Harden, James etc, and the likes of Porzingis, Embiid & Antetokombo probably will be that in the future. Current All Stars like Beal, Thompson, Green, Love, Horford etc aren't franchise players and never will be.

Rudy Gobert was All NBA but not an All Star. These popularity contests just pi$$ me off. The only thing I like about ASW is the celebrity game.

Chris Paul should be there before Lillard though.

Dunk contest is good for a youtube rewatch. And it's actually a decent competition every 5 years or so. But we're only two years removed from the LaVine v Gordon duel, so probably not this year.

I swear if he was on a team that wanted him to go for defensive rebounds he'd be top 2 or 3 in rpg.

Not looking good. Really hoping it's just a calf...

Great win by your boys, but at what cost?

I didn't realise Miller was this good from 3. Dude been great.

EDIT: Could be a sprained ankle? Other angles show it's a possibility.

Crazy part about it was that it looked like a relatively innocuous, harmless spill. I was watching the game and figured it was a twisted ankle or something.

That will likely be his season, and dare I say it - he probably won't come back as the same player. They rarely do after that type of injury. He'll be lucky to receive a max contract offer in free agency.

Nice win by OKC without Roberson who is done for the season most likely.

Adams comes up big with 20 points, 13 rebounds (10 offensive!)

Embiid got to smack Westbrook twice - both should have been fouls...
