I love Russ like you love Robes but the guy is just not championship material. They would have been better off trading him and offering the big money contract to PG.

PG wouldn't stay there without Russ.

They're going to offer him whatever he wants - they'll move heaven and earth to keep him. Hopefully he stays for at least another year.

I don't think Russ as a first option can win you a title either - he's too inefficient. But they had to keep him. Trading him the year after KD left? Trading the MVP?! OKC would have been burned to the ground!

I say play it out with these guys for as long as you can. Maybe that's only this season? Who knows? PG maybe...

Woj:
As NBA GM’s prepared for the final hours to the trade deadline, there was little enthusiasm for an impactful final day of player movement. Deals, yes. Difference-makers? Not so much.
No AD for Melo trade then. :(

IT traded to the Lakers for peanuts.

I think him leaving was inevitable. The other Cavs players didn't appear to be particularly fond of him...

That, and he's not very good.

The Lakers now have cap space for 2 max players next season...

PG still odds on to leave.

So what did the Cavs get in the end for Kyrie? A couple of bit players, helping the Celtics get much stronger in their conference and helping the Lakers free up enough cap space to potentially make a play for Lebron? Seems like a good trade.

Cavs just got Geoge Hill, and Rodney Hood!

Wade also back to the Heat. Mad.

Cavs looking much better now.

The Cavs still have that Nets pick, no? I think that was the point of the trade from the Cavs perspective, to get a high pick in a purportedly great draft so that if Bron leaves they can rebuild.

Anyway I think we got a lot better talent wise. Be interesting to see how a big overhaul goes late in the year.

Not in love with what the Kings did here. Only managed to get a 2020 2nd round pick out of the Hill deal (pretty much everything else is filler) and dumped a current marginal prospect to do so. They did clear some cap space, but the problem is that it's a small market franchise that is widely viewed as a dumpster fire so it's hard to attract free agents. They needed to take on some albatross contracts in exchange for young assets or better picks. Vlade still thinks he can get good free agents to sign with Sac and under his regime that looks basically impossible.

Ferguson is the only asset the Thunder have, and they didn't want to give him up...

Hopefully they can pickup a wing and a big man on the buyout market - should be a few of the latter available.

DAJ staying put. Clippers couldn't move Bradley either - question marks over his health? He has battled groin issues this season.

Not many teams have cap space for next season, I think?

You might be able to get someone decent...

That much is true. We shall see. I have very little faith in Vlade as a GM.

Damn. I was hoping for a late miracle to bring Rodney Hood our way, especially after he dropped 30 on us in his "audition" on Tuesday

Apparently 20 teams were interested in him

On to the buy-out market...

I've watched a few Lakers games this year. Larry Nance Jr and Jordan Clarkson are just the types of players the Cavaliers need.

I'm a bit surprised the Cavs traded Wade, but I have a feeling his presence in the Cavs was creating some of the trouble. JR Smith is very lucky he wasn't traded out, as he's been one of the worst culprits at the Cavs.

You're a braver man than me. NBA is like the NRL. Most teams can beat the other on any given day.

Not big amounts $5- $10 multis. I stopped for a few weeks when the results got really crazy.
In Oz you have to pay $600 to add NBA package to your Fox subscription. Alternatively you could just open a Sportsbet online account and watch every game live for free.

I really, really hope the Cavs hang on here.

Even if they don't, it's great to see them looking so good first game up. With Love to return, they have so much more firepower.

Also, they are fun to watch now! Rose + Wade out there was awful basketball!

Russ + Melo out again.

$3.30 on the Grizz if you're fast enough - not the worst bet.

Lakers were at $2.40 last game. TAB too slow...

That was a lot of fun.

Boston a bottom 5 offense these last 15 games, and are ranked 20th on the year.

Without Hayward they're not doing shit.

Finished with 7, 3 of them new players. East playoffs should be interesting.

I, thankfully, piked out. Grizz are bad, and the Thunder were at home.

Role players tend to play better at home... but not tying a franchise record from 3 better!

Russ still being out is a worry, tho. The Thunder are never transparent when it comes to injuries, and it pisses me off.

It will be interesting to see how the Cavs play over the next 10 games. On paper they appear to have a good team, but they are behind the eight ball in regards to combinations and playing time.

We don't have the firepower to keep up, and without Robes we can't stop shit.

Cavs win this easy.

Yeah after a nice start they've gone to shite. At least Adams is playing well. I'm an Adams fan first and Thunder fan second so as long as he's doing well I'm happy enough.

Fair enough.

Steve is on pace for a ridiculous 42 minutes - which is just dumb. He's gonna die before the playoffs come - if the Thunder make them...
