Several Canucks fans on here were involved in the riots. Fairly certain that's Snooze holding the sign.

Oi.  I actually don't own a bandanner.

Great win for the Raptors, and didn't think they were gonna get across the line last night. Some really bad calls against them I thought, but doesn't matter now.

I think it's only on this coast they go into destruction mode, win or lose.

Klay would be looked after no worries.

They got a good bargain for Mckinnie and Looney

Looney would still be on his rookie contract, those are set according to where the player is drafted.

Looney did really well, he will be part of their core as they move forwards. If I was GS I would fortify themselves next season and trust their system and make the playoffs and then go from there. If KD stays and comes back (when he does and also obviously Klay) they can be a real strong contender again...

I wonder if it's worth keeping Cousins. He does make lots of mistakes but thats because he's involved in a lot of plays for a normal big man. Over a whole season he's physical presence could be crucial.

Cousins isn't gonna stick around for vets minimum though and they can't push themselves further into luxury tax for him.

Decent haul.

I'm not a Kuzma fan, so not getting him = a big "meh" from me.

100%

This deal >>> Feb deal

Now let's see if Griff can turn the 4th pick (and Lonzo) into something. Need to give Zion plenty of room to work and this line-up ain't it (Jrue loves taking it to the rim, Lonzo can't shoot and Ingram??)

But coach likes Lonzo a lot so I dunno

Woj, Teams are already expressing significant interest in the No. 4 overall pick belonging now to the Pelicans, league sources tell ESPN. Talks are expected to continue over the next few days. This deal could get even bigger for the Pelicans.

It's a pity KD and Klay won't be around for lakers vs warriors.

It'll be interesting to see how it fits for the Lakers (considering what playing with LeBron has done for other high volume bigs)

People who only watch highlights think the guy shoots a lot better than he does and creates his shot which he just doesn't do. He really doesn't have post moves (if you cut him off going right he has no answer and he's had some horrible games against bigs who work this out and his ridiculous miracle floaters and hooks aren't bailing him out) and about 70% of his points are assisted. That is A LOT, no other player comes close to that in the NBA, even high volume bigs like Embiid are <50%

Not saying he's not elite mind you..... but to everyone who said "get AD some help", he needs more help (and has had it!) than any other player in the game

No Kuzma, #4 pick in a weak draft after Zion and Ja. I don’t think NO got enough.

Should've taken the mid season deal.

Kuzma probably is better than the #4 pick, but the Pels have been shopping that pick around so you never know what they might end up with.

Lakers won the trade though, AD, LeBron & Kuzma plus a bunch of scrubs is already a good side but they've got enough space to sign another player and people will want to come now. Maybe Kemba? He'd make a decent Kyrie stand in.

Kuz is a scrub!

The guy chucks at 30% from 3, can't defend for shit, and can't rebound for shit. He's Jamal fucking Crawford.

The #4 pick is worth more to the Pellies than him. Easily.

Guys, no, just no

Sounds like there's A LOT more to this regarding the picks/swaps/protections...

From Windhorst: "The Lakers just acquired one of the top five to ten players in the league .. He's a superstar. He's in his prime. One year from now we could be looking at the Lakers holding the trophy. What they gave up for him is POTENTIALLY SCANDALOUS. It's an unbelievable haul they gave. ... It is the Nets-Celtics trade Part 2."
Went on to call it "one of the most lopsided trades" in league history when it comes to draft pick compensation. The Lakers gave Pelicans control of their picks for the "next 5 to 7 years."
"It was the best possible deal I think the Pelicans could squeeze out of the Lakers. From what I understand is the details, there's more than just the draft picks. I can't say right now. Just know that this was an incredible haul that they had to give up from a draft standpoint."

Kuz can score and make his own play. He would thrive under the radar. AD and Bron can shoot 3s.

Sounds like Griff has invested in Laker incompetence (+ an ageing star) for the next few years. Might be a very smart investment... We have the Lakers pick when Lebron turns 40

As you can see, Lakers don't do drafts. They just sign the best players. If the Lakers are mildly successful in that period what's the use of the picks?

No it’s not. And they got stuck with Lonzo Bust. Lakers straight finessed em.

Also Brian Windhorst. Please stop before I have to think any more about that blob and how he made his name stalking teenage LeBron around Akron. x(

AD ain't there to shoot 3s...

You need the other guys to do that.

Bron/AD PnR surrounded by shooting. Kuz at 30% from 3 last year? Not gonna cut it.

Kuz as a 6th man gunner is fine, but I wouldn't like to close with him come the playoffs.

Yes, it is. It's way more attractive to other teams than Kuzma.

And Lonzo is better than Kuz as well.

I hadn't heard about the pick swap options, that improves the deal for the Pels but realistically the Lakers don't want rookies anyway. They're mortgaging the future to try and win in the next two years and to rebuild around AD once LeBron's contract finishes.

This situation is made for Kuz. Bron will pass more and Kuz would have his best season. Kuz's value is to take load of bron and AD who ultimately will be the two you'd look to come playoffs.

For sure.

Bron is 35 in December. They're in win now mode.

Picks are power. Plenty of options to make things happen

Which brings to mind the Celtics. It's surprising that they haven't pulled the trigger on some of these big boys over the past few seasons (PG, AD, Kawhi) with all the assets they accumulated... Kyrie leaving now, they might end up thinking what could have been

Yeah, the Celtics acquired so many assets but other than the Kyrie trade, they've never made the big move. I wouldn't bet against Ainge fleecing someone again, but at the moment it's looking like they've missed their shot for a really big play.

He’s a better player. Always has been always will be.

The picks are a wildcard obviously but looking at the deal today it’s a W for LA.
